#RealTalk (Why the Pacers are better Now than they were when they were the No.1 seed)

"Oh so close bruh!"
Calvin Coolidge once said, “All growth depends upon activity. There is no development physically or intellectually without effort, and effort means work.” Winston Churchill gave it to us like this, “Continuous effort – not strength or intelligence - is the key to unlocking our potential.” Then Mahatma Gandhi shook boyz up when he said, “Satisfaction lies in the effort, not in the attainment, full effort is full victory.”

Well playas…the Indiana Pacers were sent to the crib on Wednesday night from Memphis literally. After gettin’ blasted 95-83 on the second night of a back to back joint for not bein’ able to hang on Beal Street the Pacers got the blues of not makin’ the playoffs. It was win or go home for these boyz and the Grizzlies tucked them in like Big Momma for a long summer’s nap.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! Even though the Pacers didn’t make the playoffs, they were more fun to watch and cover this year than they were last year when they were the No.1 seed! Call me nuts but boyz played through crazy adversity from day one and never gave up. I’ll take that any day bruh!

Yeah, I know that the goal is to win championships etc. but when you’re not even in that realm of possibility you’ve got to take what you can get playa.

Think about it son! Ole dull Lance Stephenson bet on himself and bounced takin’ all of the energy out of the buildin’ with him. Then in August when boyz were chillin’ out watchin’ a meaningless basketball game in Las Vegas Paul George snaps his leg on a freakin’ basket stanchion.

Now everybody and Big Momma’s house cat are freakin’ out that there’s no Lance and no PG!!! When camp starts the injury bug infiltrates the joint and starts man handlin’ everybody with gonads like the school yard bully. George Hill gets his lunch money taken, David West gets locked in a his locker, Skittles-N-Lemonheads gets his books knock out of his hands and kicked in the butt, Rodney Stuckey sits on the infamous thumbtack and the list goes on.

Ole Frank is like a mad scientist tryin’ to come up with a formula to keep these duns from capsizin’. Dependin’ upon who he had available would determine what startin’ lineup he’d play. Durin’ the process he became a freakin’ genius!

Also the players became more resilient and the chemistry went from absolutely none on a team that was the No.1 seed a year ago to sittin’ on full strength on a team that didn’t even make the playoffs. Understand this playa, this team that is goin’ to crib early this year is a much better team than the duns that made it to Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals a year ago. That’s real talk bruh!

Boyz don’t see it now but this season will become the turnin’ point for the Pacers Organization. Frank Vogel did the best job of coachin’ in his freakin’ career this season. Yeah I know that I’m soundin’ like somebody’s old man givin’ them the speech after they didn’t play on their little league team but adversity makes you stronger and disappointment builds character.

By the end of the season all of the energy that Lance took out of the joint with him was back because boyz loved watchin’ a team that played like their lives depended on it and it did. Win or lose fans want to have something to look forward to.

Now it’s up to Larry and Co. to figure out how best to move forward without messin’ up the chemistry and vibe in the buildin’! I know that first things first, ban the sale of Skittles and Lemonheads in the buildin’!!! I just believe that if Roy doesn’t have access to them he’ll play better because that dun is NOT goin’ to walk away from the final year of his deal which is a player option. Nobody with a piece of a brain is gonna pay that dun so he’s not goin’ anywhere.

So the only thing boyz can do is stop sellin’ candy in the buildin’, take all back seats out of vehicles in a 10 block radius of the arena, ban the play of Luther Vandross in central Indiana and put blinders on that dun until his contract expires. On the day it expires everything can go back to normal bruh but not a minute sooner and I’ll drive him to the freakin’ airport. #RealTalk!!! Stop me when I start lyin’!

Destiny's Child (Why the Pacers still need Beyonce' singin' at full strength in Memphis tonight)

"Control the controllable playa!"
Newt Gingrich once said, “Perseverance is the hard work you do after you get tired of doing the hard work you already did.” John Quincy Adams broke it down like this, “Patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties and obstacles vanish.” Then Thomas Carlyle, the 19th century Scottish philosopher, articulated it like no one could when he said, “Permanence, perseverance and persistence in spite of all obstacles, discouragements, and impossibilities: It is this, that in all things distinguishes the strong soul from the weak.”

Well playas...despite all of the foolishness that the Indiana Pacers had to endure this season it all comes down to a boy winnin’ in Memphis tonight. Back in the summer when Paul George ran into a freakin’ basket stanchion foolin’ around with USA Basketball and breakin’ his leg havin’ to miss the first 76 games of the season everybody and their momma’s momma thought the Pacers were toast.

Then the injury bug ran through the locker room puttin’ boyz in Full Nelson but nobody said “Uncle!” The dun had George Hill strung up for 30 games but he kept talkin’ $100 worth of noise to him. He grabbed D. West by the collar, then “Skittles and Lemonheads” and so on and so forth to the point where Frank was playin’ so many different lineups that boyz needed ID to get in the buildin’!

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! Permanence, perseverance and persistence in spite of all obstacles, discouragements, and impossibilities have allowed these boyz to win 6 straight to control their own playoff destiny. In other words pimpin’, BeyoncĂ© is still in the group and they’re still survivin’!

On Tuesday night Washington showed up on some revenge type joints bein’ petty as boyz would say around my way. They’re already locked into the 5th seed and winnin’ doesn’t change anything for them. The best they could do is move to 4th and they’d still have to play Toronto. John Wall and Co. was lookin’ to eliminate the Pacers from playoff contention because Indiana ended their playoff run last year. Petty, but I get it bruh!

So these duns showed up and took a boy into double overtime. What they didn’t realize was that the Pacers have a weird DNA that allows them to step up when necessary and not too many cats want to walk down their street when it gets thick. C.J. Miles came out of the bushes on a boy with 25 points and 8 rebounds. George Hill ran out of the front door lookin’ like Rambo sprayin’ cats for darn near a triple double. He ended up with 24 points, 10 dimes and 9 rebounds! D. West came from behind the crib blastin’ with 15 as both Ian Mahimni and Rodney Stuckey came from Aunt Mae-Mae’s across the street with 10 apiece. Ole Skittles and Lemonheads was upstairs sleep with an O-fer until darn near 2 minutes left in regulation. He ended up with 6 but at least he had 12 rebounds. Somebody needs to check that dun’s gun though because it’s freakin’ impossible to be that close to the rim and shoot 30 percent.

Now hopefully boyz can rolled into Memphis and catch a boy gimped up after they’ve lost two straight. Mike Conley (ankle), Marc Gasol (ankle) and Tony Allen (hamstring) are all sittin’ on the side of the bed waitin’ for Big Momma to rub that dull Calamine lotion on their boo-boo’s . Hey playa, you gotta take it how you can get it! If their snake bitten and you can come in and steal one then so be it. It’s all hands on deck win or go home tonight bruh.

Despite all of the foolishness, Thomas Carlyle was O.G.-ish when he said, “It is this, that in all things distinguishes the strong soul from the weak.” In other words, “What chu gone do playa?” Stop me when I start lyin’!

Playas Thesaurus:
1) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc.
2) $100 worth of noise: verb- to talk a bunch is trash, to talk ish etc.
3) Skittles and Lemonheads: noun – my nickname for Roy Hibbert because that dun 9 out of 10 times that dun is sittin’ in the back seat of the ride while everybody else is fightin’ to win eatin’ Skittles and Lemonheads listenin’ to some Luther with his feet hangin’ out of the window.
4) Playoff destiny: noun – it’s a play off of the group Destiny’s Child and their hit I’m a Survivor.

Shootin' (How Russell Westbrook keeps provin' to boyz why he isn't the league MVP)

"Hey dawg, just let that keep shootin' bruh!"
Michel de Montaigne, the 16th century French philosopher, once said, “The value of life lies not in the length of days, but in the use we make of them…Whether you find satisfaction in life depends not on your tale of years, but on your will.” Aristotle gave it to us like this, “The ultimate value of life depends upon awareness and the power of contemplation rather than upon mere survival.” Then Albert Einstein shut the joint down when he said, “Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value.”

Well playas…the Oklahoma City Thunder came through Indiana on Sunday night with Young Russ drivin’ the bus lookin’ to become a man of success rather than bein’ a man of value. Ole boy scored 54 points in a 116-104 loss tryin’ to become the league’s MVP instead of tryin’ to make his TEAM better.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! Young Russ took 43 shots to score the 54 points playa. So on the surface the headline looks amazin’ but the 54 points doesn’t help his team get into the freakin’ playoffs nor does it help them when the game!

While he’s out there jackin’ up shots all night the Pacers are keepin’ the other four cats in check. He can’t beat you by himself bruh! So let him keep shootin’! Everybody and their momma’s momma keep screamin’ that ole boy is clearly the MVP because he’s leadin’ the league in scorin’ etc. but none of these duns are lookin’ at what he’s doin’ to his team. They probably won’t make the playoffs and boyz are lookin’ at him sideways because he’s takin’ every shot down the floor. That’s not the MOST VALUABLE PLAYER!!! That’s bein’ Carmelo with more athleticism! He just plays better defense.
"You can really shot bruh! I'm just sayin'!"
The Most Valuable Player doesn’t go out and pick up his 16th Technical Foul knowin’ he’ll probably have to sit out of the second half of a back to back tonight in Portland when they are just outside of the playoff picture tied at 8th behind New Orleans. Scorin’ points doesn’t make you the MVP! Scorin’ points makes you the scorin’ leader bruh!

The Pacers knew that one dun couldn’t walk into the buildin’ and rob the joint all by himself so they played the game that needed to be played to win. Boyz contributed on both ends of the floor and they played team basketball. CJ Miles hit ‘em off with 30 points and 10 rebounds, George Hill was nice with 19 points all while throwin’ 7 dimes. “Skittles and Lemonheads” posted up 17 points and 10 boards and David West got at these boyz for 13 solids! TEAM basketball wins games playa not some dun jackin’ up shots all night.

As a result on winnin’ its fifth straight game the Pacers are still in the hunt for the 8th seed in the East with two games left! They’ve got to win out with hopes that Brooklyn wets the bed at least once because the Nets hold the tie breaker after goin’ 2-1 against the Pacers this year. It’s all hands on deck now playa. I know boyz are glad that they don’t have a dun like Young Russ on their team because they would be fightin’ in that locker room if a boy took 43 shots in a loss. Stop me when I start lyin’!

Playas Thesaurus:
1) Young Russ: noun – Russell Westbrook
2) Ole boy: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc.
3) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc.
4) Dime: verb – to throw assists
5) Skittles and Lemonheads: noun – Roy Hibbert. 80% of the time that dun is sittin’ in the back seat of the car eatin’ Skittles and Lemondheads listenin’ to some Luther Vandross while the rest of the team is out their hustlin’ their tails off to get a win.
6) Solids: noun: points bruh

Smart vs Wise (How Chris Copeland put himself and the Pacers in jeopardy)

"You're right dawg! That wasn't a good look!"
Bill Gates once said, “Success is a lousy teacher. It seduces smart people into thinking they can’t lose.” Alan Alda gave it to us like this, “Be as smart as you can, but remember that it is always better to be wise than to be smart.” Then the big homie Roy H. Williams, the best-selling author, shut the buildin’ down with, “A smart man makes a mistake, learns from it, and never makes that mistake again. But a wise man finds a smart man and learns from him how to avoid the mistake altogether.”

Well playas…the big homie, Chris Copeland, was fortunate enough to learn a valuable lesson on Wednesday mornin’ without losin’ his life. Bein’ out at 4am is never a good idea playa, especially when you’re 6’8” and rich.

He and his girl were both stabbed outside of a New York City nightclub Wednesday mornin’ while simply waitin’ on their driver. Accordin’ to reports some cat walked up on them and tried to solicit ole boy for something. When Chris refused him this fool stabbed them both. Accordin’ to witnesses there was no verbal altercation.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! My mother would always say, “Ain’t nothin’ open after midnight but legs and problems boy! Are you sure you wanna be out there?” Well, on Wednesday mornin’ ole Chris found that out first hand. What boyz don’t realize is that when you’re a celebrity or pro athlete there is always some dun out there tryin’ to make a name for himself off of you.

You’ve got a lot of haters and jealous-type cats that will take a shot at a boy on GP. Chris was out at 4am with his girl therefore he wasn’t a threat to this fool so he went for it. It’s unfortunate but Chris has to be conscious of his surroundings and of who he is.

We pray that ole boy recovers well from this incident because he did have to have surgery to repair a puncture in his diaphragm and elbow.

From a business standpoint you gotta know better than to be out at 4am because you’ve got a freakin’ job to do that evenin’! Yeah, I know they’re professional athletes and boyz don’t have curfews but this is a reason why the wise have to police themselves.

You’re grown playa and boyz shouldn’t have to tell you that it’s not a good look to be out kickin’ it at 4am until a boy gets stabbed at 4am! So I bet duns all over the league are gonna re-read what Roy H. Williams said earlier, “A smart man makes a mistake, learns from it, and never makes that mistake again. But a wise man finds a smart man(Chris Copeland) and learns from him how to avoid the mistake altogether.”

Yep Chris is the smart man that everybody just learned from pimpin’! I bet you can’t find a boy in the league outside at 4am today or tomorrow. The crazy thing is, by Saturday duns will have forgotten all about Chris and some other fool is gonna get caught up in some foolishness because when a boy is rich it gives him a false sense of security.

Boyz are like, “I don’t need security I’m cool! Ain’t nothin’ gone happen to me! My boyz got it, etc.” That’s the very cat that we’ll read about because the boyz he’s dependin’ on are out kickin’ it and their guards are down too. So now you’re hit and here we go again.

The Pacers need to win out in order to make the freakin’ playoffs bruh! So they need all hands on deck. They can’t afford for a boy to be laid up stabbed. If nothin' else it's a distraction that the team doesn't need. When you put yourself in bad situations you negatively affect everybody around you and that includes the freakin’ team! At least wait until after the season is over to kick it. Boyz should be thinkin’ about one thing and one thing only, and that’s winnin’ these remainin’ games and makin’ the darn playoffs. And that’s the edited version! Stop me when I start lyin’!

Playas Thesaurus:
1) Ole boy: noun – the person in question, in this case Chris Copeland
2) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc.
3) On GP: It stands for General Purposes, which is to say, “For the sake of it” or “For the hell of it.”
4) Pimpin’: noun – the person that I’m passionately tryin’ to get my point across to.
5) Hit: verb – to be assaulted or robbed

NUTS!!! (Why Paul George's return was like seein' MJ Moon Walk in '83)

"What should I do bruh? Yoke it or lay it? Awe dayyymmmm!"
Zig Ziglar, the famous sales guru, once said, “People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily.” Lou Holtz gave it to us like this, “Ability is what you’re capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it.” Then Les Brown, the motivational speaker, broke it down like this, “Wanting something is not enough. You must hunger for it. Your motivation must be absolutely compelling in order to overcome the obstacles that will invariably come your way.”

Well playas…Paul George has overcome the obstacles that have come his way. Ole boy made his 2014-2015 season debut with the Indiana Pacers on Sunday night eight months after breakin’ his leg on a basket stanchion durin’ a scrimmage with Team USA in Vegas. The rival Miami Heat was in town sittin’ a game ahead of them in the playoff race in the 9th spot so it got real, REAL quick! With the energy that PG brought into the buildin’ with him the Pacers beat the brakes off of the Heat 112-89.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! Boyz couldn’t wait to get into the joint to see PG hit the court with the brand new No.13 to officially become PG-13! With 5:34 left to play in the first quarter ole boy hit the floor and you would have thought Michael Jackson moon walked for the first time playa. Duns went NUTS!!!! And it was on and poppin’!

PG scored 13 points in 15 minutes and made two key 3-pointers early in the fourth quarter to help his team rout the Heat. Now ole boy was to some degree rusty but he looked good for a cat that hasn’t played all season. He got a breakaway steal and couldn’t make up his mind as to whether he was gonna yoke it or lay it up. The indecision proved to be fatal as he missed the joint. But it’s cool bruh! Boyz just wanted to see him on the floor.

Think about the fire power that this team has now. C.J. Miles is lethal on a boy from outside and now PG is back! NUTS!!!! I know they’re hustlin’ just to make the playoffs this year but can you imagine how good this team would have been with everybody bein’ relatively healthy this season. NUTS!!!

Now the key is to use PG wisely. Don’t run him into the ground and wisely manage his minutes until he gets into game shape. If they make the playoffs cool, if they don’t it is what it is. If PG can get them over the top with his energy that would be a bonus but him gettin’ healthy is the most important thing. Boyz need him for next season! Why? Because it’s gonna be NUTS!!!! Stop me when I start lyin’!

Playas Thesaurus:
1) Ole boy: noun – the person in question, in this case Paul George.
2) Dun: noun – the person in question, the random dude, guy, etc.
3) Nuts: verb – to go crazy, excited, bananas
4) Yoke: verb – old school G.I. (Gary, In.) hood term for dunk

Warnin' Shot (How Big Momma threatened the Pacers to get back in the playoff hunt)

"You hear that dawg? Big Momma ain't playin'! Watch out!"
Henry David Thoreau once said, “The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation. What is called resignation is confirmed desperation.” Harry Nilsson, the singer-songwriter, gave it to us like this, “I do believe that most men live lives of quiet desperation. For despair, optimism is the only practical solution. Hope is practical. Because eliminate that and it’s pretty scary. Hope at least gives you the option of living.” Then Harry Shearer, the actor and comedian, poured out a lil’ liquor for all of the dead homies when he said, “I am one of those people who thrive on deadlines, nothing brings on inspiration more readily than desperation.”

Well playas…the Indiana Pacers are as desperate as they come bruh! With boyz sittin’ just outside the playoff picture with only a hand full of games left they’re lookin’ to carjack anybody that isn’t payin’ attention right now. On Friday night as the city was gearin’ up for a ridiculous weekend of hoop with the Final Four in town. Boyz saw the Charlotte Hornets pull in town with the freakin’ windows down, doors unlocked and cruisin’ around hollerin’ at broads instead of keepin’ their heads on a swivel. The Pacers caught them at the light sleepin’ 93-74 to move into the 9th spot behind both Miami and Boston who are tied for the 8th.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! Like Puffy used to say when Bad Boy was bangin’ in the mid ‘90’s, “It real in the field!” Every game counts and boyz can’t afford to be sleepin’ at the wheel like the Pacers did this week. They went out to both Brooklyn and Boston and got caught day dreamin’ in the freakin’ park. Now both of those teams are just ahead of them in the playoff picture.

On Friday night they were able to catch a boy violatin’ the first law in the Hood Survival Code written 100 years ago bruh! “ALWAYS KEEP YOUR HEAD ON A SWIVEL PLAYA!” The Hornets got caught watchin’ the eye candy downtown and forget that they had a game to play. Rodney Stuckey ran up on the driver side door and hit a boy up for 15. Then both of the C.J.’s, Watson and Miles, took care of the duns in the passenger seat and in the back seat, even the cat sittin’ on the dull hump, with 13 and 12 points respectively.

They held the Hornets to only 35 percent shootin’ from the field and 22 percent from 3-point after allowin’ a boy to unload in the first quarter at 50 percent from both the field and behind the arc. Ole Frank had boyz tighten up the grip the remainin’ three quarters holdin’ Charlotte to only 74 points, which is the lowest opponent point total of the season for the Blue and Gold. The wheels had seemed to have fallen off here lately because they have given up at least 100 points in 8 of their previous 10 games. So to hold a boy to 74 points means that Big Momma must have cursed up one side of a dun and down the other before the game started.

She’s in town for the Final Four and figured she’d check you out too. She just bought a brand new patent leather purse already pre-filled with peppermints with some dull patent leather shoes to match. Ole girl walked into the locker room with those tight “A” knee highs squeezin’ her calf’s so she’s already pissed. In her Aunt Ester voice, “Look her you fish eyed fool! I’m in town for the Final Four and I figured I’d come through and check you out too! Don’t make me pull this pistol out of my purse tonight!”
The game got so out of hand that I hooked up with the fellas!

At the end of the first quarter when the Hornets were up 25-22 shootin’ 50 percent all you heard was a gun shot in the air! Big Momma was not playin’ bruh! Boyz ducked and then the Pacers kicked it into gear because she doesn’t make threats, she makes promises pimpin’!

So now Miami rolls into town on Easter Sunday and you already know that the old playas will be out lookin’ like Dolemite with the dull purple suits with the hat, canes and shoes to match. The fashion police will be in full effect givin’ out $250 fines to these idiots that you’ve got to fight in the parkin’ lot if you told them they weren’t clean. Beat the Heat and boyz can get right back in the thick of the playoff race! Stop me when I start lyin’ and pop this link to get all of the behind the scenes video footage of the game with Ya Boy in "Pacers Cred!"

Playas Thesaurus:
1) Broads: noun – women
2) Head on a swivel: verb phrase – to be on the look-out for a potential cat that’s lookin’ to rob you.
3) Puffy: noun – short for Puff Daddy, that’s before the Notorious B.I. G. died in ’97 and he started callin’ himself P. Diddy, Diddy, Diddy Dirty Money etc., etc., etc. Just call that dun Money and we’re cool.
4) Sleepin’ at the wheel: To not pay attention to what is in front of them and get caught by surprised and robbed.
5) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc.
6) Dull: adjective: to be shameful or disgusting to the point where when I say it I’m shakin’ my head in disgust as well.
7) Hump: noun – to the bump in the middle of the seat in old school cars that nobody wanted to sit on when you were a kid. There is another word that boyz used for it but it isn’t appropriate for this audience. LOL!!
8) Pimpin’: noun – the person that I’m passionately tryin’ to get my point across to.
9) Dolemite: noun – an ole school pimp movie released in 1975 starrin’ Rudy Rae Moore. It was one of the Blaxploitation films that was popular durin’ that time period playa.

"Y'all know how we get it in! So let's get it in!"

Skittles & Lemonheads (Why it's urgent for the Pacers and Roy Hibbert is still day dreamin')

"I'm just here bruh!"
Colin Powell once said, “There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.” Confucius stood up, cocked his brim and said, “Success depends upon previous preparation, and without such preparation there is sure to be failure.” Then Elbert Hubbard got in the whip, turned the joint on, let the window down slightly and said, “The best preparation for good work tomorrow is to do good work today.” And then he drove off bumpin’ that DJ Khaled joint “All I Do Is Win!”

Well playas...it looks like the Indiana Pacers haven’t gotten that memo lately bruh! Their tomorrow doesn’t seem too bright because their today has been horrendous! After wettin’ the bed on Tuesday night in Brooklyn they ran over to Boston and had diarrhea in the joint on Wednesday losin’ 100-87 to fall even further out of the playoff race.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! The freakin’ wheels are startin’ to fall off of the Pacers at the wrong time! They’ve now lost their ninth game in their last eleven tries and that ain’t good pimpin’! They were right in the hunt two days ago now they’re tied up in a Brooklyn basement waitin’ on Biggie to tell a boy where they are.

The Nets and Miami are tied for the 7th spot with Boston sittin’ right behind them with ole dull Charlotte just ahead of the Pacers. What’s so crazy is that Indiana just played both Brooklyn and Boston and lost. They’ve got Miami comin’ in on Easter Sunday and they definitely can’t afford to lay an egg. All puns intended pimpin’!

You can only control the controllable playa. So when you’ve got teams on the schedule that you’ve got to beat in order to get into the playoffs there has to be a since of urgency to get out of the freakin’ basement. That sense of urgency has to come from the team leader and I’m talkin’ about the leader in cash flow playa.

Roy Hibbert at some point has to show up and put these boyz on his back and stop sittin’ around in the back seat of the ride eatin’ “Skittles and Lemonheads” watchin’ George Hill, C.J. Miles, David West and Rodney Stuckey do the heavy liftin’!

This dun had 7 points and 3 freakin’ rebounds in Boston bruh! Wheredeydodatat? He’s 7’2” 290lbs!!! He should get out of the bed with a double-double EVERY night! I’ll be so glad when his contract expires I don’t know what to do. In my Big Momma’s voice irritated voice, “He gettin’ on my last nerve!”

George Hill has been puttin’ in work since he came back from injury. He dropped 21points, 6 rebounds and threw 6 dimes last night. Stuck threw 16 in the kitty, C.J. Miles popped these boyz for a smooth 12 and David West came to work with an attitude and gave ‘em 10 points and 8 rebounds. Everybody is productive almost nightly but “Skittles and Lemonheads” and he’s makin’ more bread than anybody on the freakin’ roster.

It got real about a month ago playa and now it’s urgent! There are only seven games left! So what are you gonna do with them? It’s time to Boot Up or shut up and I’m talkin’ specifically to “Skittles and Lemonheads!” Stop me when I start lyin’!

Soul Food (How the Pacers can smell Big Momma's cookin' but they can't eat just yet)

"You smell that dawg? I gotsta have it bruh!"
Henry David Thoreau, the famous author and poet, once said, “The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation. What is called resignation is confirmed desperation.” Jim Carry broke it down like this, “People need motivation to do anything. I don’t think human beings learn anything without desperation.” Then Benjamin Disraeli, the 19th century British politician and writer, stood up and shouted, “Desperation is sometimes as powerful an inspirer as genius.”

Well playas…the Indiana Pacers must be the smartest duns in the NBA right now because they are as desperate as they come. This time last year they were the battlin’ for the No.1 seed in the East with Miami and now they’re simply tryin’ to get a seat at the freakin’ table bruh. They were in the 10th spot as they arrived to the arena to play the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday night. By the time they had taken care of business by beatin’ Mark Cuban’s homeboys 104-99 they were tied for the 9th spot with Boston. Desperation is a beast bruh!

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! It’s only 9 games left on the schedule playa and every one of them is a must win. Unlike last year when boyz were already in the ride and they were just tryin’ to figure out who was drivin’ vs. who was gonna ride shotgun. Now boyz are about to pull off without a boy!

They just wanna be in the ride at this point and they don’t care if they’re sittin’ on the dull hump in the back seat. It’s real out here and they aren’t tryin’ to be walkin’.

So on Sunday night C.J. Miles unleashed the dragon on Dallas and put up 28 points to lead the Pacers on a ridiculous shootin’ exhibition. They finished the night shootin’ 50 percent from the field and 58 percent from downtown! That’s NUTS!!! Both George Hill and “Skittles and Lemonheads” brought 14 points to the cookout. While both David West and Rodney Stuckey delivered 10 apiece with mild sauce on the side.

Ole “Skittles and Lemonheads” not only shook a boy down for 14 points but he had 7 rebounds too. That’s what I’m talkin’ about playa! If we could get that type of production every night I wouldn’t be callin’ him Skittles and Lemonheads!” However, more often than not that dun is sittin’ in the back seat of the whip eatin’ Skittles and Lemonheads while the rest of the homies are battlin’ in the middle of the street tryin’ to keep a boy from takin’ their sneakers and jewelry.

Well it’s real now bruh! Nine games left and you can smell the greens and ham hocks in the kitchen that Big Momma’s cookin’! Unfortunately, you’re standin’ outside right now with your face pressed against the window lookin’ at boyz preparin’ to sit down to go to work on it. The question is playa, are you gonna let a boy take the final seat or are you willin’ to push him out of his seat to get to the soul food that you can only get to once a year? I’m just sayin’! Stop me when I start lyin’!

Playas Thesaurus:   1) Dun: noun – the person or persons in question, dude, guy, etc.
2) Skittles and Lemonheads: noun – Roy Hibbert
3) Gotsta: Hood for, "I have to"

Foolishness (Why if the Pacers were from where I'm from the Beard doesn't score 44)

"Stirrin' these boyz up bruh!"
Heinz Guderian, German general durin’ World War II, once said, “There are no desperate situations, there only desperate people.” Charlie Chapman gave it to us like this, “That is why, no matter how desperate the predicament is, I am always very much in earnest about clutching my cane, straightening my derby hat and fixing my tie, even though I have just landed on my head.” Then the big homie Jim Carrey laid it down like a G when he said, “I don’t think human beings learn anything without desperation. Desperation is a necessary ingredient to learning anything or creating anything. Period. If you ain’t desperate at some point, you ain’t interesting.”

Well playas…the Indiana Pacers are as interestin’ as they come right now because these boyz are in complete desperation and panic mode to make the playoffs after droppin’ six straight. On Monday night they let the Beard show up and torch them for 44 points as he led the Houston Rockets to a 110-100 victory and some of Big Momma’s peach cobbler.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! The Pacers had already lost five in a row when ole boy showed up! They should have been desperate enough to punch him in the throat before he got goin’! You already knew that the dun was loadin’ up the freakin’ gun because he lit you up for 45 the last time he came over.

Put it like this pimpin’, if a boy comes over to your crib and tears up your furniture, kisses your girl, uses the toilet and doesn’t flush it will you let him come back over? So when you saw this dun’s beard walk into the arena somebody should have been assigned to shave that joint before he started tearin’ up furniture and kissin’ women again!

He did everything but remodel the freakin’ house! He lit ‘em up for 44 points on 10 of 21 shootin’! He was 21 of 22 from the foul line, threw 7 dimes, picked up 4 rebounds, he pick pocketed a boy twice and had 2 blocks! He jumped out of the birthday cake on these boyz and matched the entire Pacers’ team point-for-point in the first quarter, 15-15! Then he went nuts in the fourth quarter drainin’ three’s, takin’ boyz to the rack and drawin’ fouls as he scored 19 of his 44! Wheredeydodatat?

Now what I need to know is why or how did the entire Pacers team and coachin’ staff just sit and watch a boy tear up the crib and nobody punched that dun in the throat? If you’re watchin’ your playoff hopes start to crash and burn after all you’ve been through this season with injury after injury. Then to see boyz fight back and get right in the thick of the race only for it to start slippin’ away, somebody’s gotta snap bruh!

I would have shaved the beard clean goin’ to the rack! By the time that joint was over he would have looked like Gary Coleman bruh! 44 points???!! And I’m hangin’ on by the hair on my chinny chin-chin? As a matter of fact bruh, now they’re in the 10th spot just barely ahead of ole dull Brooklyn! Naw playa, if ole boy had just been drainin’ three’s all night I’d understand. Well…no I wouldn’t because it would have been obvious when I punched him. But because he went to the foul line 22 times boyz had ample opportunities to elbow that dun and slow his foolishness down!

Its obvious Frank isn't from where I’m from playa or anybody else on the team for that matter because the beard would have boarded a flight through one eye last night! They would have been talkin’ about how the Beard only played 12 minutes in Indy and scored 15 points in loss because of the desperation of the Pacers. The commentators would have been sayin', "For some strange reason it got physical and we can't explain why." I’m just sayin’!

Just Got Real (How Kyle Lowry kept it ALL the way 100 with the Pacers)

"Get off of me son! I got this tonight!"
Thomas Jefferson once said, “War is an instrument entirely inefficient toward redressing wrong; and multiplies, instead of indemnifying losses.” Sam Walton broke it down like this, “You can make a lot of mistakes and still recover if you run an efficient operation. Or you can be brilliant and still go out of business if you’re too inefficient.” Then Bill Gates spoke like a true O.G. when he said, “The first rule of any technology used in a business is that automation applied to an efficient operation will magnify the efficiency. The second is that automation applied to an inefficient operation will magnify the inefficiency.”

Well playas…the automation of the Toronto Raptors applied on Monday night to the Indiana Pacers magnified their inefficiency ten-fold. Kyle Lowry and Co. was on autopilot as they ran through Bankers Life Fieldhouse and beat the brakes off of the Pacers 117-98.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! The Raptors had only won 2 out of their last 12 games comin’ into the joint and boyz probably took them for granted. So as Kyle and Co. saw these duns sleepin’ at the wheel they swooped and hit ‘em up real quick as they slid up on the side of the ride. Lowry went off for a triple-double and got them for 20 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists to set the tone. Louis Williams got at them for a smooth 24 and DeMar DeRozan leaned into them for 22!

Here was the inefficiency of the Pacers playboy! The most efficient and productive bench in the league only brought 28 points to the party. In other words, they showed up empty handed to Big Momma’s cookout. Then they shot a mere 10 percent as a team from behind the arc when Toronto lit them up at 52 percent from the same distance. You can’t win a boy shootin’ like that playa and the dun on the other side is drainin’ ‘em.

The crazy thing about it was that the Pacers only had 4 turnovers all night! Wheredeydodatat? I can’t ever remember them havin’ so few turnovers in a quarter let alone a freakin’ game! In terms of bein’ efficient with holdin’ on to the ball they were outstandin’ but they just couldn’t shoot that joint from downtown.

George Hill went nuts to lead the Pacers with 23 points. However, he had 17 in the first half but went ice cold in the second goin’ 1 of 4 from the field. Rodney Stuckey dropped his usual 20 points in the hat and even “Skittles and Lemonheads” showed up with 17 points and 7 rebounds.

Clearly not bein’ able to knock down 3’s hurt a boy on Monday night. You can’t go 2 of 19 from three and win when Toronto goes 12 of 23 from the same spot. It is what it is playboy! You’ve got to boot up and keep bangin’ at this point. The Pacers are in a 3-way tie for the 8th and final playoff spot with Miami and Boston. So it just got REAL pimpin’! Boyz have to have a short memory and put that joint behind them. Up next Chicago and stop me when I start lyin’!

Playas Thesaurus:
1) O.G.: noun – short for Original Gangsta. The old wise cat in the streets that knows the hustle better than everybody else because he’s been around longer and seen more.
2) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc.
3) Ride: noun – car, vehicle
4) Wheredeydodatat?: Hood for, “Who does that?”
5) Skittles and Lemonheads: noun – ole dull Roy Hibbert. I call him that because more often than not that dun is sittin’ in the back seat of the ride eatin’ Skittles and Lemonheads while the rest of the boyz are out in the street bangin’ tryin’ to get a win. He’s got on some Luther Vandross with his foot hangin’ out of the window. So “Skittles and Lemonheads” it is playa!
6) Pimpin’: noun – the person that I’m passionately tryin’ to get my point across to.

Mayne (How the Pacers were all Hustle but simply no Flow against the Celtics)

"What's up wit tonight bruh?"
John McLaughlin, the famous musician, once said, “The mathematics of rhythm are universal. They don’t belong to any particular culture.” Bruce Barton, the author, advertising executive and politician, gave it to us where we could smell it, “Action and reaction, ebb and flow, trial and error, change – this is the rhythm of living. Out of our over-confidence, fear; out of our fear, clear vision, fresh hope. And out of hope, progress.” Then Elvis Presley stepped on stage and broke it down like this, “Rhythm is something you either have or don’t have, but when you have it, you have it all over.”

Well playas…it looks like ole Elvis was right bruh! Either you have it or you don’t and the Indiana Pacers didn’t on Saturday night as the Boston Celtics came into the joint and robbed them without a ski mask on 93-89. They didn’t do anything special to get the win they just won the joint. The loss snapped a season high 7 game winnin’ streak for the Pacers.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! It’s not like Boston rolled off into the joint with mad swag and confidence! They didn’t seem to be the better team bruh. The Pacers just seemed to stumble around all night. The breaks that a boy usually gets just didn’t show up to work. They had the "Hustle" but no "Flow" mayne! Defensively they didn’t play bad. After all, they held Boston to only 42 percent shootin’ from the field and 28 percent from downtown!

The glarin’ stat that stuck out for me was that the Pacers bench who has been a major contributor all season wasn’t as productive as usual. However, they scored 30 points but this a bench that puts in work darn near every night! And that’s the edited version. They put up 73 points just a few nights ago against ole dull Orlando. So bench scorin’ has been a critical piece of the Pacers identity this year because of all the injuries they experienced early on.

They’re still holdin’ on to the No.7 playoff spot even with the loss but they are now 3 and ½ games out of the No.6 spot behind Milwaukee and only a half game up on Charlotte.

I know y’all didn’t think I was gonna get out of here without talkin’ about the dun in the back seat eatin’ Skittles and Lemon Heads. On a night that the team needed a boost from the $13.67 million man he only gave them 5 points and 7 rebounds. At 7’2” 290lbs. that should be a double-double just gettin’ out of the bed in the mornin’ pimpin’! There are no excuses for wakin’ up that tall and not bringin’ at least 10 and 10 to the cookout. None playboy!!!

Big props to the homie George Hill for bangin’ out 30 points and throwin’ 8 dimes. C.J. Miles hit ‘em up for 13 points as both Rodney Stuckey and C.J. Watson dropped off 12 apiece. Up next Toronto and stop me when I start lyin’!

Playas Thesaurus:
1) Smell it: verb phrase - to be able to understand it clearly
2) Mayne: noun – Memphis hood for the word man. Hustle and Flow was a movie about a hustler and pimp named DJay from Memphis that was chasin’ the dream of becomin’ a rapper. The dun said mayne a thousand times in the movie just like boyz from Memphis do.
3) Dull: adjective – to be the guy that you simply shake your head when you say their name.
4) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc.
5) Pimpin’: noun – the person that I’m passionately tryin’ to get my point across to.
6) Dimes: verb – to throw assists

Benched (How Pacers had boyz climbin' out of the trunk on the Magic)

"Watch ya back homie! On any night a boy could go off!"
Thomas Carlyle once said, “Permanence, perseverance and persistence in spite of all obstacles, discouragements, and impossibilities: It is this, that in all things distinguishes the strong soul from the weak.” Calvin Coolidge gave it to us like this, “Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not: the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.” Then Bill Bradley poured out a lil’ liquor for all the dead homies when he said, “Ambition is the path to success. Persistence is the vehicle you arrive in.”

Well playas…the Indiana Pacers have been ambitiously lookin’ for success all season and now they’re finally arrivin’ in an old school persistence Deuce and a Quarter the with gangsta white walls and the brains blown out. On Tuesday night they jumped all over the Orlando Magic to win their 6 straight game 118-86. They’ve now won 12 of their last 14 when earlier in the season boyz were countin’ them out completely.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! Even when everybody and their momma’s momma in that locker room was hurt, injured and for lack of a better word, banged up, Frank Vogel kept leanin’ in the Deuce and bumpin’ that old school “Eye of the Tiger” joint. Now they’re in sole possession of the 7th playoff spot in the East.

When everybody but the freakin’ trainer was hurt early on, Frank was forced to play multiple lineups and endless rotations. Well homeboy, they say that the best invention comes out of necessity. Because Frank had to play his bench heavy minutes early and often in the season you don’t trip when a boy tells you that he got 73 points from it on Tuesday night.

Rodney Stuckey came out of the trunk with 34 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Luis Scola climbed out of the back seat with 15 and 10! While C.J. Watson followed him out off of the hump with 12, 4 and 5! Ian Mahimni only dropped off 6 points but he was a beast on the glass with 10 rebounds. When you’re gettin’ that type of production from your bench it’s dangerous for a boy.

These cats were not only ballin’ last night but they were extremely efficient with the basketball. As a team they shot 52 percent from the field, 50 percent from behind the arc and freakin’ 91 percent from the foul line! Wheredeydodatat? They also had 37 team dimes! That’s nuts!!!! Talk about purrin’ like a kitten!

Now that boyz have found their rhythm it’s gonna be hard to take their sneakers and jewelry in broad daylight. Why? Because they’re playin’ with confidence and confidence normally plays the music louder and drives through the hood slower. Up next the dull Bucks and stop me when I start lyin’!

Playas Thesaurus:
1) Deuce and a Quarter: noun – the old school Buick Electra 225 datin’ back to 1959 to about 1976.
2) Gangsta White Walls: noun – old school tires with the thick white wall.
3) Brains blown out: noun – sunroof, power hole, etc.
4) To follow off of the hump: verb phrase – to slide out of the ride after seatin’ in the middle of the back seat on that dull hump.
5) Wheredeydodatat?: Hood for, “Who does that?”
6) Dimes: verb – assists

"Y'all know how we get it in! So let's get it in!"

Tipsy (How Frank Vogel has boyz tore up from the floor up and nobody's complainin')

Ian: "Frank is servin' up that fire bruh! Joakim: "Please don't hurt me dawg?"
Joshua Waitzkin, the famous chess player, once said, “The moment we believe that success is determined by an ingrained level of ability as opposed to resilience and hard work, we will be brittle in the face of adversity.” Jamais Cascio, the writer and design strategist, gave it to us like this, “Resilience is all about being able to overcome the unexpected. Sustainability is about survival. The goal of resilience is to thrive.” Then Gever Tulley, the writer and computer scientist, spit some fire when he said, “Persistence and resilience only come from having been given the chance to work through difficult problems.”

Well playas…the Indiana Pacers have become experts at workin’ through difficult problems. Durin’ the first couple of months of the season it seemed like every time you turned around somebody was on the injury report. Obviously, Paul George has been out rehabbin’ a broken leg but boyz kept goin’ down like Mary J. Blige. Frank Vogel has experimented with so many different lineups and rotations this season that boyz need to start callin’ him Dr. Frankenstein.

Now that everybody’s healthy the Good Dr. has these boyz rollin’! Winners of 10 out of their last 12 and 4 in a row as they banged with, as Frank told me durin’ the pre-game interview, “The best next man up team in sports,” the Chicago Bulls. The Pacers walked out of the joint with a 98-84 victory.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! The Bulls the "used" to be the best next man up team in sports playa but now the Pacers have bum rushed them for the nickname. With the win on Friday night they’ve now tied the dull Miami Heat for the 8th and final playoff spot in the East. I keep tellin’ you boyz that the former Heatles without their “Ringo Star” won’t make the cut down the stretch because D. Wade’s knees want out bruh. He simply can’t carry them without Bosh.

So all the Pacers need to do is keep bangin’ and drinkin’ the Frankenstein Kool-Aid. Boyz were drunk off of it on Friday night. They all should have been pulled over for DUI because Frank is mixin’ it strong. The Pacers starters scored 49 points as well as the bench! Wheredeydodatat?

They had six duns in double figures led by Solomon Hill with 16! Rodney Stuckey was delirious comin’ off of the bench with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. While the Frenchman, Ian Mahimni, was darn near comatose with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Both David West and C.J. Miles staggered out of the ride holdin' that dull Solo Cup with 10 points each. However, D. West clipped these boyz comin’ into the parkin’ lot with 10 rebounds and throwin’ 5 dimes as well.

I’m just glad that everyone got home safely because Frank is makin’ drinks stronger than Isaac from the Love Boat playa! Boyz are believin’ the hype and this team may be even more fun to watch than the previous two that made it to the Eastern Conference Finals and Paul George has yet to lace them up pimpin’!

Can you imagine the energy in the buildin’ when PG-13 debuts? They’ll have to tell Frank to stop mixin’ drinks that night and only give a boy what’s on tap because somebody is gonna get hurt.

Yeah, I know that PG won’t be in any game shape but his presence will give this team that’s already fightin’ for a playoff spot even more hope. Have you seen how the presence of George Hill has intensified the drinks at Frank’s bar? When PG laces them up boyz won’t be able to take shots to the head. They’ll have to simply babysit that joint all night and sip on it.

All the mad scientist needs is that final ingredient and then it’s on and poppin! But until then he’ll keep servin’ up this Kool-Aid and bumpin' that J-Kwon joint "Typsy" as boyz keep drinkin’ it. Up next the dull Knicks! Stop me when I start lyin’!
