The Edge (The REAL reason Lance Stephenson is the most important Pacer)

"You want some of this too playa?"
As I’m parking the whip just outside of Bankers Life Fieldhouse the duns scalping tickets are arguing over the concept of attitude. Zig Ziglar, the famous sales guru, said, “Your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your altitude.” Winston Churchill hit boyz off with, “Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference.” Then Wade Boggs shut the building down with, “A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events and outcomes. It is a catalyst and it sparks extraordinary results.”

Well playboy, you can call Lance Stephenson whatever you want but don’t call him soft. Call him the dude that the good ole boyz don’t like, call him the cat with a chip on his shoulder, call him the dun that gets blamed for everything but don’t ever call him the cat that’s not ready to play. It was his attitude goin’ into Game 1 that was the catalyst for extraordinary results and the reason the Pacers bum rushed the Heat 107-96.

Before Game 1 Lance The Don Dada Mr. #BornReady himself kept it real when he told reporters at practice in a simple conversation that his plan in so many words was to take advantage of D. Wade’s weakness, his freakin’ knees! He said that he planned to run that dun around as much as possible in hopes that his knees would flare up.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! These media cats are always lookin' for a boy to keep it real and then when they do they dive all over them for bein’ honest. I don’t know where all of these cats grew up but where duns like Lance and I are from that was taught in “Competition 101” in the freakin’ school yard homeboy. Use a man’s weakness to your advantage and it's OK to tell him that you're gonna do it too.

Just by him sayin’ it he gave the rest of the Pacers the edge enough to get in the ride with him and in the playoffs if you don’t pull up on the block with that edge you’re gonna get your sneakers, jewelry, lunch money and woman taken playboy.

From the word go the Pacers came out of the whip on the Heat and all five starters finished in double figures. Paul George hit ‘em with 24 from the passenger side. Then both D. West and Roy Hibbert took shots from the back seat  finishin' with 19 apiece. Ole Roy even got gully on a boy and grabbed 9 rebounds. George Hill came out of the trunk with 15 while C.J. Watson jumped in the ride from his granny's house and dropped off 11. Lance was drivin’whole team in the ’69 Cutlass with the rag top sittin’ on 24’s bumpin’ that DJ Khaled “All I Do Is Win” joint just to let boyz know! Then he rattled off 17 with an attitude for good measure. Not only did he get everybody goin’ but he brought all of the energy to the buildin’ like he’s been doin’ all year.

Without Lance this team isn’t in the position they’re in right now bruh. He's the most important cat on the team because of his edge and swagger and you can't advance without it. Now they will only go as far as Hibbert will be willing to take them because of the match up problem that he presents to Miami but Lance is the attitude that will keep the fire lit.

The hood loves him because he plays the game the way it’s supposed to be played, from the head down. It's attitude bruh! Ain’t nothin’ wrong with tellin’ a boy that I’m here and I’m comin’ for you even if it’s D. Wade. That dun had to become D. Wade at some point in his career right? So why not Lance becoming “The Don Dada” right now?

These cats that grew up in the suburbs or in rural America just want a boy to just play the game. Naw pimpin’ in the ghetto the game is the conversation that takes place before you even show up because without the conversation there is no pressure to back anything up. Pressure pushes you to become great. Diamonds wouldn't be as valuable as they are without time and pressure, always remember that playa. Without pressure it's just a piece of coal and who wants to rock that?

Cat’s kill me talkin’ about not givin’ the other team bulletin board material. Bulletin board material never changed a boyz DNA. If he needed somethin’ to motivate him then he’s not ready to play the freakin’ game anyway. Lance hollerin’ about D. Wade’s knees wasn’t gonna make his knees get any better playboy.

If nothin’ else he reminded that dun that his knees were shot and boyz know it. So for all you suckas that don’t like Lance Stephenson deal with it because in his P. Diddy voice, “We Ain’t Go-in No-Where! We ain’t goin’ nowhere!”

John C. Maxwell, the famous author and speaker, was a G when he said, “The greatest day in your life and mine is when we take responsibility for our attitudes. That’s the day we truly grow up.” So in ghetto fabulous terms, "Ole boy talked a big game and backed it up." Lance took responsibility for his attitude, went out and put in work! Stop me when I start lyin’!

Holla At Ya Boy!
