Baby Steps (Why the Pacers are strugglin' to find their way right now)

I'm my Puffy voice, "It's real in the field!"
As I was hangin’ out in the barber shop on Friday night these three cats started arguin’ about boyz never givin’ up! Marta, the famous Brazilian soccer player, got in the chair and said, “Never give up and be confident in what you do. There may be tough times, but the difficulties which you face will make you more determined to achieve your objectives and to win against all the odds.” Laurie Notaro, the best-selling author, was waitin’ for a line up and threw her two cents in with, “If you really believe in what you’re doing, work hard, take nothing personally and if something blocks one route, find another. Never give up.” Then Winston Churchill came in sellin’ bootleg purses and shouted, “Never, never, never give up.”

Well playas…the Indiana Pacers must have been eaves droppin’ on the conversation because they refused to give up in Sacramento durin’ the 102-101 loss in overtime. They fought back from a 17-point third quarter deficit to take the joint to overtime only to lose at the buzzer.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! The Pacers are tryin’ to find a rhythm now that boyz are slowly comin’ back into the lineup. Early on they were strugglin’ to find themselves because of the absence of David West, Paul George, George Hill, C.J. Watson etc. Now that C.J. and D. West are back the rotation is to some degree thrown off from what boyz were doin’ early on.

It’s not a bad thing bruh, it’s just what it is. I believe that Frank has done an excellent job of coachin’ durin’ this most difficult period. At the beginnin’ of the season when everybody was in the ride with their feet kicked up because of injury they were losin’ games because they just couldn’t finish. Then they found a rhythm and started closin’ those close games out.

Now it seems like they’re startin’ over in terms of rhythm but they’re hustlin’ in spite of losin’ games. I don’t know about you playboy but I can respect a boy for never givin’ up even in the losses. Why? Because if he continues to put forth that same effort the losses will eventually turn into wins. The Pacers don’t have a talent issue pimpin’! They’ve got a chemistry issue created by the rotation constantly changin’ due to injury and now boyz returnin’ and Frank tryin’ to figure out who to play when.

Sit in the cut and wait for it playa. This team isn’t as bad as the record says that they are. I know that the great Bill Parcells once said, “You are what your record says you are.” But the Pacers are what their line up says they are. I think that these duns are a better team with Donald Sloan and Rodney Stuckey runnin’ the point as opposed to C.J. Watson bruh. Call me crazy but if any of those cats are gonna sit it should be C.J. and not Donald.

Sure C.J. put up 14 points but Donald Sloan has something extra that boyz vibe off of. C.J. is like a can of soda that’s been left open all night. No fizz! No flavor! Nothin’ that sparks boyz to be better and more aggressive. There is a need for energy at the point playa. I’m just sayin’! Now D. West hasn’t lost a step. He’s jumped out of the ride with no problem. When the chemistry shows up look for a completely different team.

Turnovers were down to only 8 last night and fast break points were up to 14 verses 11 to Sac. Baby steps playboy! Baby steps!

Don’t give up on these boyz because they’ve got the talent they’re just tryin’ to figure each other out right now. Up next Atlanta at the crib on Monday and stop me when I start lyin’!
