Why ole boy holdin' up a sign to play in the NFL was UNACCEPTABLE! "Dreams"

"I got dreams bruh!"
Friedrich Nietzsche, the German philosopher, once said, "Necessity is not an established fact, but an interpretation." Thomas Edison gave it to us like this, "Restlessness is discontent and discontent is the first necessity of progress. Show me a thoroughly satisfied man and I will show you a failure." Then Thales, the ancient Greek philosopher, sat all of the young hustlas down and broke them off a lil' G knowledge for the road when he spit, "Nothing is more active than thought, for it travels over the universe, and nothing is stronger than necessity for all must submit to it."

Well playas...in Joe Anderson's mind, the cat that stood outside of the Houston Texans facility daily a month ago holdin' up a sign that read, "Not homeless ... but STARVING for success," playin' in the National Football League is a necessity for him. The sign went on to say, ""Will Run Routes 4 Food" and added the hashtags: #Whateverittakes, #UnderDog, #Hungry and #IBelieve." Well on Tuesday the New York Jets signed him to their practice squad.

Now let's keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! I admire the humble nature of this cat to stand out in front of the Texans joint and hold up a sign for a another shot at the league. For those of you that don't know his story, he was signed as an underrated free agent in 2012 out of Texas Southern, my parents alma mater. My daddy played quarterback there in the mid 1950's.

Ole boy played in 9 games, mostly on special teams for parts of two seasons. His 2013 season was cut short due to an abdominal strain and groin injury that landed him on the injury reserve list and he was later waived. He spent time in the CFL in 2014 but hasn't had a job in football in 2015.

Now none of the reports that I've read tryin' to get more background into this cats situation says anything about him workin' outside of football to make ends meet. The reason that I was checkin' on that was because I found out that the dun was 27 and married with two kids! Again, I applaud him for wantin' to play in the NFL and not givin' up on his dream but if he didn't have another job up to the point of signin' with the Jets that a problem pimpin'!

For the sake of argument, let's say that he put all of his eggs in the football basket. Now don't get it twisted, a dun on the practice squad in the NFL makes $6,600 per week. That's $105,600 ($6,600 X 16) per season. That's major bread bruh that you can't make anywhere else on a regular job! However, "if" he hasn't worked all year and now he's signin' with the Jets in week 14 he's only gonna get paid for 2 weeks. That's a total of $13,200 for the year.

Now I realize that ole boy could have saved from the bread that he made durin' his time with the Bears because the league minimum is $435,000. So I get "if" that's the case but I would doubt it playa because the stats on boyz burnin' through bread in pro sports is through the roof. So again, a boy makin' $13,200 for the year in unacceptable.

That's cool if the dun were single and didn't have kids but he does. I'm not tellin' a boy not to dream because I do EVERYDAY! However, the grind out here is real once you commit yourself to havin' a family. Some risks you just can't take and bein' broke waitin' for that perfect opportunity ain't one of them.

I hope that it works out for him because we've seen stories of cats like Kurt Warner who was baggin' groceries before he got his big shot in the league and won a Super Bowl. It happens playa because God is real. However, God can still be real and not bless you with an NFL career. And y'all can say Amen to that too.

I'm just sayin', "if " you're a grown man with a family your first responsibility is to take care of it and not to dream about what YOU wanna do. I hope it all works out for him but if it doesn't at some point he's gotta put it down and get a real job. Why? Because he's 27 years old with a family.

It's okay for a dun with no responsibilities to run out to Hollywood and dream of bein' an actor or a cat that thinks music is his calling and he wants to travel the world singin' background for pennies a day. That's cool bruh! But when you take a wife and start havin' kids the game changes. Even if you just have a wife and no kids the game changes. Why? Because the word of God says in 1 Timothy 5:8 "Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their OWN household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever." So there is no such thing in God's eyes as a stay at home dad playa.

I'm talkin' but y'all ain't listenin'. Don't get caught up in the fact that he humbled himself and held up a sign. A man's first responsibility is to take care of his family. And "if" all he was doin' was holdin' up a sign to make $13,200 this year that's a problem because you can't feed a gerbil off of 13 stacks bruh. Not in 2015 you can't! Stop me when I start lyin'!

Playas Thesaurus:
1)  G: noun - gangsta
2) Spit: verb - to say
3) Dun: noun -the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It's whoever I'm talkin' about and its non-gender specific.
