Violating Hood Protocol (How the Pacers are showin' NO loyalty to Lance Stephenson)

"Yeah Jay I see these boyz!"

Amelia Earhart once said, “The most effective way to do it, is to do it.” Ralph Marston, an old timer who played in the NFL, gave it to us like this, “You’ve done it before and you can do it now. See the positive possibilities. Redirect the substantial energy of your frustration and turn it into positive, effective, unstoppable determination.” Then the big homie George Washington broke it down like this, “To be prepared for war is the most effective means of preserving peace.”

Well playboy, whether you liked it or not Lance Stephenson’s antics on Wednesday night helped preserve the Pacers season. He agitated LeBron all night long as he sealed the evening with a smooth blowin’ in his ear. He also tried to listen in on the Heat’s huddle too. That got overshadowed yesterday because mainstream America or should I say rural and suburban America were completely distracted by the ear blowin’ incident.

Ray Allen even went as far as to call what ole boy did “buffoonery” because he was on the other team. Now Ray won a championship in Boston with my favorite player of all-time Kevin Garnett and never called him a buffoon and KG was worse than Lance. Anybody that has been around this game for more than five minutes knows that KG would give it to boyz all night long. Why? Because he was a technician at gettin’ into boyz heads and he played with the same fire Lance does. I say "was" because he's past his prime and needs to go sit down somewhere now.

What blows my mind about Allen’s comments is that he acts like he’s never played street ball in the hood before. Yeah, I know that it’s the freakin’ NBA but some of the same foolishness that goes on in the projects in the cages are goin’ on in 17,000 seat arenas on national television. Why? Because the same duns that were playin’ in the cages in the projects are playin’ in the NBA.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! Everybody on the outside lookin’ in wants Lance The Don Dada Mr. #BornReady himself to change his approach. However, if that dun changes the way he plays the game he wouldn’t be Lance Stephenson. He wouldn’t be the cat that led the NBA this season in triple doubles. He wouldn’t be the energy that the Pacers and their fans have been able to feed off of this entire season. Without him bein’ the cat from Coney Island, Brooklyn, New York the freakin’ Pacers don’t win 56 games this year and they wouldn’t be in a Game 6 situation in the Eastern Conference Finals tonight playboy. I’m talkin’ but y’all ain’t listenin’!

I’ve said it all season long and I’ve even said it to Frank Vogel himself. Lance is the most important person on that team because of the energy and fire that he brings to the table. EVERY night Without him they would be the cats gettin’ jumped on the way to school and gettin’ their sneakers, jewelry and lunch money taken. That’s real talk, pimpin’!

What pisses me off about this situation, not just the ear blowin’ or the huddle joint but also the bear pokin’ incident on Sunday where ole boy said that LeBron was showin’ a sign of weakness by jawin’ back and forth with him, is that boyz in that locker room don’t have his back includin’ Vogel.

After they got beat in Miami on Monday Paul George said publically that Lance needs to tone it down. Everybody else took two steps back from that dun too. Vogel said that he was cool with ole boy tryin' to listen in on the huddle but that he crossed the line with blowin' in LeBron's ear. What?

His reasonin' was that everybody tries to listen in on huddles because they do it all of the time. So just because everybody is stealin' Snicker bars from Fat Daddy makes it OK? That's crazy! Either he's wrong or he isn't? And even if he's sideways you gotta hold him down. You can't pick and choose which wrong you're gonna ride with.

That's like me gettin' in the car with my old man and pullin' out a Twinkie and a Honey Bun knowin' that I stole both of them but because he likes Honey Bun's he curses me out for stealin' the Twinkie. Wheredeydodatat?

Nobody said, “Hey that’s my teammate and Ima ride with him ‘til the wheels fall off. Yeah sometimes he’s hangin’ out of the ride sayin’ or doin’ somethin’ crazy but we don’t win the games that we win without him. So that’s my guy and I’m down with him.” That’s what real G’s do playa and that’s what championship caliber teams do. They don’t hang family out to dry.

Everybody has a brother, uncle or cousin that is a complete fool but nobody can say a word about him or her. You can dog them out all day long but let a boy in the street that's not family open their mouths. It's gonna be a dog fight! Well, that's the way the Pacers should be operatin' with my guy the Don Dada.

When Dennis Rodman was with the Pistons and he made the statement, “ If Larry Bird was a brother he wouldn’t be gettin’ all of this attention that he’s gettin’, he’d just be another player.” Isaiah Thomas road with him when the media asked him how he felt. Even though Dennis pushed the envelope, Zeke didn’t slam his teammate in the media. You never once heard Jordan, Pippen or Phil slam Rodman after he kicked the cameraman or put on the freakin' weddin' dress etc. Now they probably gave him the business in the locker room but you never heard a peak out of them about it publically. Why? Because that’s family and you gotta ride or die with them.

These cats on the Pacers act like they didn’t grow up in the hood or anywhere near it. The first thing Big Momma teaches you growin’ up in the ghetto before you even head out into the streets is, “Keep other folks names out yo mouth! Nobody likes a tattle tale and if it ain’t got nothin’ to do with you leave it alone.”

What’s the first thing these ole dull media cats do when they get into the locker room bruh? They’ll ask a player how he feels about somethin’ Lance did and then that dun will give a full out answer too. I’m standin’ there thinkin’ to myself “Where did this cat grow up?” It's like when I first moved to Indy from Gary. Boyz would be on the news after a shooting, robbery or murder interviewing the witnesses! Wheredeydodatat?

The media cat gets a pass because he/she doesn’t know any better. They didn’t grow up in the hood because I already know that it’s a violation of standard hood protocol to even ask a boy about another boy. And for a cat to be on the news talkin' about seeing a dun in a red Camero with vanity plates wearin' a Bulls t-shirt blows my mind.

The proper answer to any question directed to you about someone else is, “You gotta ask him bruh. I don’t have anything to do with what he was doin’ or thinkin’! Next question!”

Y’all can act like it ain’t what it is if you want to playboy but Lance is payin’ attention to all of this too. Why? Because he understands the rules just like I do. And remember this playa, he’s in a contract year. I’m just sayin’. Now it''s cool that if Bird and Co. are tired of his antics but you can't turncoat on a boy while the season is still goin' on!

You can’t win a championship with cats that aren’t loyal to one another. Not every person on the team is goin’ to agree with what Lance may do or say but a real G isn’t gonna comment publically. You never heard Ray Allen say anything crazy about KG but he’s callin’ Lance a buffoon. Why? Because he’s not on his team! Stop me when I start lyin’!
