Gator Shoppin' (How the Pacers figured out that Detroit was just a bigger Haughville)

"I'll take those in purple bruh!"
You know the drill playboy, when in Rome do as the Romans do and when in Detroit do as all Detroit hustla’s do, buy a pair of gators. So as I’m finding my rhythm at the Detroit Gator joint in the Northland Mall these cats started wrestling over the concept of perseverance. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe picked up a purple pair and said, “In the realm of ideas everything depends on enthusiasm…in the real world all rest on perseverance.” Walter Elliot, the Scotish Unionist Party politician, got bold on a boy, put on some lime green joints and said, “Perseverance is not a long race; it is many short races one after the other.” Then John Quincy Adams pulled the fire alarm and stole two pairs of fire red joints as he said, “Patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish.”

The Indiana Pacers must have been in the getaway car with that dun because they heard every word that he said. Patience and perseverance kept them from freakin’ out and givin' up even after gettin' carjacked in the first half in Detroit. Either it was a helluva job of shoe shopping by the Pacers or a complete melt down by the Pistons as the boyz from Indiana walked out of the joint with a 112-104 overtime victory.

After one quarter things were pretty manageable at 29-20 Detroit. Then all of a sudden the hustla’s from the “D” took the duns from Indianapolis to the hood and things started moving too fast. See it would have been different if the Indiana boyz were from the “G” (Gary) because Detroit and G.I. are essentially the same place.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! At one point the Pacers were down 56-31 and looking like they were about to be buried in the vacant lot next to Ms. Ruthie’s house. Don’t worry about who Ms. Ruthie is playa there’s an "Old Lady Ruthie" in every ghetto looking out of the window just follow me on this.

Then all of sudden they figured out that the “D” was just a bigger Haughville and found a rhythm. Paul George walked out of the joint with 15 pair of gators (30), 8 rebounds and threw 7 dimes. Evan Turner came out of the ride on ‘em to hustle a boy out of 10 pair (20) to make it easy on D. West to grab 7 ½ pair (15). Then ole dull Roy Hibbert was even bold enough to get his hands on 6 pair (12) and 5 rebounds bruh.

I was most impressed with Andrew Bynum’s ability to come out of the ride and at one point he had 5 ½ (11) in just 11 minutes and finished with 7 ½ pair of lime green joints (15) and 9 rebounds.

By the time the Pacers walked out of the Palace they looked like they were ready to go to the playas convention and hang out with Dolomite, Bishop Don Magic Juan and the big homie Goldie.

It’s a miracle that they were able to get out of the city limits alive shooting as badly as they did. They were only 39 percent from the field and a miserable 29% from behind the arc but a win is a win pimpin’! Turnovers were manageable at 10 and Roy even got out of the freakin’ car and walked away with some shoes. So as they were rolling back to Indy they were bumpin’ that old school Ice Cube, “Today Was A Good Day.” Stop me when I start lyin’!
