Power Move (LeBron to G.O.A.T. status?)

"They said one day I would become the Greatest but I didn't know it was gonna be like this!"

William Shakespeare once said, “Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them.” George Bernard Shaw said, “Just do what must be done. This may not be happiness, but it is greatness.” Then Winston Churchill hit boyz in the barber shop in the dome when he said, “The price of greatness is responsibility.”

Muhammad Ali is regarded as the “Greatest” not because he was the best fighter to ever live but because he thought about more than himself when he was on top of the boxing world. He understood that it was bigger than him playboy.

In 1967, three years after winning the heavyweight title, ole boy refused to be drafted into the U.S. Military to fight in Vietnam citing religious beliefs. I can remember seeing footage of him saying “The Vietcong ain’t done nothing to me!” He was arrested for draft evasion and later stripped of his title.

Ali didn’t fight for darn near 4 years while he was still in his prime. It wasn’t just about winning fights for this cat, it was about doing what was right with the power God had given him. When he was running his mouth the world hated him. It wasn’t until he got sick and closed his mouth publicly that they fell in love with him. Because on some real talk bruh, Mike Tyson is the greatest fighter of all-time not Ali but he happened to stand for something and that made the difference.

Like my boy Lamont Hatcher said, "Whenever you can put a boyz' entire career on one DVD in less than an hour, he's the greatest!!" Tyson was knocking cats out in less than 20 seconds. Ali wasn't doing that! As a matter of fact, he was struggling with boyz like Joe Frazier and George Foreman. Mike just got in the ring and laid the hammer down and went to the crib. However, Ali is considered the greatest because of what he stood for.

After the Zimmerman verdict was read many people in this country reacted in shock and disbelief and just as many really didn’t care. However, Stevie Wonder, Mary Mary and Eddie LeVert were the only celebrities to go on record as saying that they wouldn’t perform in the state of Florida until the “Stand Your Ground Law” is repealed. Now an A-list of celebrities were said to have joined the boycott but all of those duns have now said that they didn’t agree to be included.

LeBron James has an opportunity at this moment in time to become the G.O.A.T. without ever having to win another championship in his career. With his pending 2014 free agency approaching he can hit the state of Florida with a head shot financially by simply saying, “If the Stand Your Ground Law isn’t repealed by the time my contract expires I won’t continue to play in this state.” If he just says that playboy, he would have the ultimate respect of the world and especially the hood forever!

I heard Deion Sanders say in his Hall Of Fame Speech, “If your dream ain’t bigger than you, then something is wrong with your dream.” LeBron James can pull the ultimate power move and be regarded as the G.O.A.T. without taking another shot. All of you young cats can’t see it now but in 20 or 30 years boyz will be talking about how LeBron put it on the line for his people and how Trayvon Martin didn’t die in vain because of what LeBron did to help change the law. It's bigger than basketball playa.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! God doesn’t bless any of us with talent for the sole benefit of us. He has a way of setting situations up perfectly. All of this is happening in the state of Florida where the most powerful player in the world just happens to play and his contract is about to expire. That ain’t no coincidence playboy! That’s fate. Now what will he do with it?

Trayvon Martin could have easily been from Connecticut or Navada somewhere but he wasn’t. LeBron could easily have been playing in New York or Chicago but he isn’t. So Florida it is. All of the rallies are cool but in order to get boyz attention you gotta hit them in the wallet like the brothers and sisters did during the Montgomery Bus Boycott. It started on December 1, 1955 and didn’t end until December 20, 1956 when the Supreme Court ruled that laws requiring segregated buses were unconstitutional. It ended because they lost money bruh not because of a rally.

Don't think for one minute that ole Micky Arison would sit in the cut and watch his money walk away because boyz wanna be foolish about not changing a law. Money is the reason good or bad that everything moves in this world. So if LeBron and his boyz start moving money around this piece, laws will change. Why? Because the laws were only implemented to benefit the dun making all of the money.

If LeBron were to do that he would become what Jordan could never become, a hero like Muhammad Ali. See Jordan never cared about what was going on outside of the Jordan brand. So he’s limited to only the game of basketball and sneakers. Boyz would stop screaming from the roof tops about the 6 championships and start really questioning his lack of  civil and social activism and why he never cared enough about folks that looked like him to ever get involved.

See being great isn’t about how many championships you can win playa because Bill Russell has 11 and boyz don’t even talk about him with regards to basketball greatness. It’s about the impact that you can make with the talent that God has blessed you with. What did you do with all of the influence that he blessed you with besides live and eat good? Did you help change the world when you had the power to do so or did you sit on your hands?

As much as I disagreed with the way Pac handled certain situations. He was at least going to say something and that's more than these young cats are willing to do now. All boyz wanna do is stunt and pop bottles now. Nobody's willing to use their fame to help change the world like Kareem, Bill Russell, Jim Brown, Harry Belafonte and Sidney Poitier did. It always bigger than yourself.

Sure, the Stand Your Ground Law is gonna fall at some point because more and more people will boycott the state of Florida over time and they'll lose bread. So eventually it’ll be repealed. But LeBron, if you really want to be known as the “King” put these boyz on notice for 2014 and your ghetto pass will never expire in any hood in America and the suburbs will fall in love with you in 20 or 30 years like they did with Ali and MLK too. Trust me on that playboy and stop me when I start lyin’!
