The quarterback position is the most important on the field. This dun has the ball in his hand on every play. Now on all of my other top 5 lists I haven't looked at stats because you can typically eye ball a cat and know whether or not he can play. However, with this position wins and titles make a huge difference because if you're the team leader it's gotta be about how well you were able to lead. So wins and titles make a huge difference in this category.
If you're lookin' for Dan Marino you won't find him on my list playa. He was probably the most talented quarterback to ever play the game but he couldn't lead his team to a title and like I've said on my other lists, who do I take off to put him on? This is the top 5 at playin' the postion not the top 5 at throwin' the football there is a difference.
The quarterback position is not about talent but about leadership and makin' everyone else good enough to win. I know that you duns are going to argue all day about who should be on this list. So here we go:
1.
Otto Graham
Selected to 5 Pro Bowls and was a two-time NFL MVP. He played his entire career with Cleveland.
Graham led the Browns to 7 championships in his first 10 years, and only lost 13 games throughout his career.* On that fact alone he's the best "Quarterback to ever play the game because he lead his team to a championship 70% of the time he booted up.Otto was 57-13-1 record as a starter in the NFL and that represents the highest winning percentage of any quarterback (.810) all-time.

Joe Montana
Won four Super Bowls (XVI, XIX, XXIII, XXIV), an eight-time Pro Bowler, a two-time NFL MVP, and a three-time Super Bowl MVP and is on several of the NFL's all time records lists.
He and Jerry Rice are currently second on the all time list for touchdowns from quarterback to receiver, only behind Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrison. I will say this, Joe played with arguably the best receiver to ever play the freakin' game and he played for the inventor of the spread offense, Bill Walsh, 20 years before anybody else did it. So it was more the system and Jerry than ole Joe. But he did take advantage of the opportunity and won games and titles.

Tom Brady
Tom hit the New England scene in 2001, fillin' in for the injured Bledsoe. Tom would lead the Pats on to their first of three Super Bowl championships. He has the NFL record for Most Touchdowns in a Season with 50 and most touchdowns in a quarter with 5. Led the Pats to a 16-0 season in 2007 and made the Super Bowl, but lost to the N.Y. Giants. Five-time Pro Bowler, an NFL MVP and a two-time Super Bowl MVP.

Peyton Manning
Manning has kicked the label of "The next Dan Marino" by winning the Super Bowl in Feb. 2007.
Manning is a 12-time Pro Bowler, has an NFL record four NFL MVP awards, a Super Bowl MVP, and is the youngest player to reach 50,000 and 60,000 passing yards, 400 touchdown passes and is 2nd on the all-time wins list behind Brett Favre.

Bret Favre
For the record I can't stand this cat because I think he was the most selfish player I've ever seen but this ain't about how I feel pimpin'. I can't hate on what he was able to accomplish on the field. He holds just about every major passing record in NFL history. He's currently No. 1 in passing yards, touchdowns, wins, and of course interceptions. Favre is an 11-timer Pro Bowler, a three-time NFL MVP, a Super Bowl Champion, and a five-time NFC Player of the Year. He will forever be immortalized in football history as one of the best to ever play the game. I am sure they already have a nice area in Canton picked out for his bust to go in about five or six years.
