Pockets (Why Doc & EVERY NBA superstar should sit if the Clippers aren't sold)

"Aight! I can show you better than I can tell you bruh!"
Martin Luther King Jr. walked into the barber shop just as boyz were arguin’ about protesting and straight up shut the building down with, “He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it. He who accepts evil without protesting against it is really cooperating with it.

Doc Rivers must have been one of the shortys sittin’ in the shop listenin’ to all of the old heads spittin’ game like the rest of us because he understands the value of protestin’ foolishness. He’s threatened to quit his job with the LA Clippers as the head coach and president of basketball operations if Donald Sterling is still the owner of the team when the season starts in October. So in essence what he’s sayin’ is, “Y’all can slow walk this joint if you want to playboy but I’m in the wind if it’s not settled.”

For all of you cats that thought it was a slam dunk when Adam Silver jumped up in front of the cameras and said that the NBA was goin' to force Sterling to sell the team and it was gonna happen quickly you were smokin’. Everybody and their momma’s momma knew that ole boy was goin’ to jam it up in the court system because he’s an expert at doin’ that.

Even though his wife took him off of the family trust to sell the joint he’s not gonna just roll over bruh! He’s about to tie it up in court for years. However, that’s the NBA’s problem not Doc Rivers’ problem.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! In order to make a boy understand just how real it is out here you gotta get off in his pockets. Protest has always been the answer to foolishness since the beginnin’ of time. If Doc Rivers and the rest of his team go on with business as usual Donald Sterling keeps winnin’ because he continues to make bread and the team continues to be profitable.

If Doc takes his ball and walks off of the job the joint starts to crumble. The Clippers CEO, Dick Parsons, testified Tuesday in Sterling’s probate court battle with his wife, “If Doc would leave, that would be a disaster. The team believes in him and admires him. If he were to bail because of all the other circumstances surrounding him that’s going to accelerate the death spiral.”

Then death spiral it is pimpin’! When you’ve got the power that Doc has in this situation you’ve got to use it. Nothin’ in this country has ever changed without somebody losin’ bread. The Montgomery Bus Boycott of 1955 is a great example of that. Black folks essentially shut down the city’s bus system when all of the brothas and sistas decided not to ride the bus for more than a year to have the right to sit wherever they wanted on the bus. When boyz started losin’ money they came to their senses.

It was no different with the Woolworth lunch counter sit-ins that my mother participated in in 1960. There are hundreds of examples of protests in this country alone that have changed policy or thought for the betterment of mankind. When boyz start losin’ money they’re willin’ to holler at you about how they can fix the problem.

When the LA Clippers and the NBA starts losin’ major bread from slow walkin’ this situation then things will get done. Doc has the power to kill the team then I say do it. Because as long as he and his team show up to work every day like there’s nothin’ wrong then both the league and Sterling are winnin’.

The NBA is a billion industry bruh! Think about all of the duns gettin' ancillary bread off of it too. For all of you simple minded individuals that's side money made off of the main bread. That means vendors (street or in-house), hotels, restaurants, parking etc. All of the cats working those jobs start losin' too. So this isn't just goin' to affect Donald Sterling playboy! Everybody has a dog in this fight includin' the networks. Why? Because they're sellin' ad space and if boyz ain't watchin' boyz ain't buyin'.

What’s the point of havin’ the power if you’re not goin’ to use it bruh. Racist folks in this country have to be forced to understand that cats aren’t goin’ to lay down and take it anymore. You just can’t treat folk any old kind of way and still survive in business.

If Doc walks then all of the superstars all of over the league should walk too. All these cats with tall paper and huge celebrity like LeBron, Melo, and Chris Paul etc. should go on vacation until the Clippers are sold. Let the league know that we’re here and we aren’t goin’ to sit around and be pimped any longer. I blame the league because they’ve known who Sterling was for decades and never had a problem with who he was as long as the team was makin’ the NBA money.

They’re only makin a move now because he squatted in the floor in front of company. In the famous words of Malcolm X, “If you don’t stand for something you’ll fall for anything!” This is the very opportunity for the players and coaches that can afford it to make a statement. The reason that I say afford it is because everybody doesn’t have long bread like LeBron etc. So they’ve got to go to work. The wifey, sidepiece and jump up ain’t havin’ that. I’m just sayin’!

But I’ll guarantee that if the season started with a bunch of duns out there that nobody knew or wanted to see they’d figure out how to unload that team in a New York minute. The game is too big for it not to.

You’ve got to use what David Stern created as the NBA’s strength against them. Stern figured out years ago that the power of the marketin’ of the league was to focus on the individual players and not the teams. The superstars make the NBA what it is bruh not the teams.

When you see a commercial for an upcomin’ game it shows LeBron vs. Kobe or Melo vs. D. Rose etc. Nobody cares about the teams. So if you saw a commercial for the Cavs playin’ the Bulls and they had Brendan Haywood vs. Taj Gibson on that joint you wouldn’t be so interested in goin’ or watchin’ it.

Here’s my clueless fan that cares nothin’ about the situation because it doesn’t affect him in any way, shape or form because he's Hawks fan, “Man why are you tryin’ to involve guys that don’t even play for the Clippers? That’s a Clipper problem not a Cavs, Bulls or Hawks problem.” Really?

It’s an issue of racism that effects every player and coach in the league that is of color playboy. Since the league is more than seventy percent black it effects every aspect of the league pimpin’! I say threaten to get off into these boyz (owners) pockets in October and they'ill start antein' up to get that joint sold. I’ll guarantee that all of the other owners will break their necks to make sure Sterling is on a life boat headed out to sea by midnight on October 29th! Stop me when I start lyin’!
