"Winning is all that counts playboy and we've proven it!" |
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe once said, “Ignorant men raise questions that wise men answered a thousand years ago.” Plato opened his mouth and went right over the heads of the boyz in the barber shop when he said, “The learning and knowledge that we have, is, at the most, but little compared with that of which we are ignorant.” So Ben Franklin kept it simple and said, “Being ignorant is not so much a shame, as being unwilling to learn.”
Ole dull Brian Kelly got up in front of the media this week and said that the Notre Dame/Michigan Game wasn’t a rivalry so ending it wasn’t that big of a deal. After 2014 ND will end the joint because of it's partial commitment to the dull ACC. Then after boyz gave him a quick history lesson he changed his tune. Here’s my problem with these duns that take these jobs chasing paper. They don't understand the history that comes along with it bruh. At least do your homework and know what you’re signing up for playboy!
To say that Notre Dame/Michigan isn’t a rivalry game is to tell the world that you’re completely ignorant homeboy. The game was first played in 1887. It puts two of the winningest college football programs of all-time on the field at the same time. Wheredeydodatat? Michigan and Notre Dame are ranked #1 and #2 in winning percentage and #1 and #3 in all-time wins respectively. The game has been played 40 times and Michigan leads it 23-16-1! If that ain’t a rivalry I don’t know what is homeboy?
So how in the freakin’ world do you take a job at one of the most storied programs in the history of the freakin’ game and not know that? It’s like ole dull Rich Rodriguez saying when he first got to Michigan that he didn’t realize that “The Game,” Michigan vs. Ohio State, was as big a deal as it was.
When he said that I finally understood what Bo Schembechler meant when he said that a Michigan man should coach Michigan. If you’ve been raised by the program or have had some affiliation to it you would respect it. Rich was chasin' paper and simply didn’t respect the Maze and Blue. He only respected the green and that ain't good enough in any walk of life. The green motivates but passion keeps the engine going. Never forget that pimpin'!
This ain’t pro football bruh! It’s about more than bread in big time college football. You have to understand and respect the traditions and the history of the program in order to understand the magnitude of what you're driving.
You can't just jump into a Bentley and not understand that that joint was hand made! That no part of this vehicle was made on an assembly line and that's why it's so freakin' expensive! When you understand that you won't just jump into the joint and start texting and driving or letting boyz eat in it.
Could you imagine Nick Saban going down to Bama and saying that the Iron Bowl (Auburn) was no big deal or Bob Stoops saying that the Red River Shootout/Rivalry (Texas) wasn’t important when they took over? Could you even fathom Will Mushamp at Florida telling boyz that the “Cocktail Party” (Georgia) was a thing of the past and that “it ain’t nothin’?”
Now let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! The Michigan game isn’t Notre Dame’s main rivalry game because USC is, but it’s still a rivalry! Just like Texas vs. Texas A&M was before ole dull A&M walked away from it chasin’ paper. Nebraska did the same thing to Oklahoma when they ran to the Big 10 chasin' that skirt too. Just because it isn’t the main rivalry game doesn’t mean that it’s of no importance. Games like Oklahoma vs. Oklahoma State, Alabama vs. Tennessee or Florida vs. Florida State are very important to the history of college football and shouldn't be discounted!
If nothing else the Michigan/Notre Dame game has more meaning than any college football game played other than the national title because it’s for bragging rights on which program sits on top of the history of college football. Like I said before they’re #1 and #2 respectively in winning percentage and #1 and #3 in all-time wins! That’s gotta mean something playboy if you’re a competitor! Did I mention the fact that they both have 11 national titles apiece? What? And that ain’t important? It's definitely not important if all you’re doing is paper chasin’! Stop me when I start lyin’!
