Finally the Lakers executive vice president Jeanie Buss comes out and says that if her old man Dr. Jerry Buss were still alive they would have been able to sign Dwight “Buster Brown” Howard. She believes that he would have been able to talk ole boy into to staying in LA.
In an interview on ESPNLA 710 Jeanie went on to say, "When it came time to try to convince Dwight to stay, we lost the best closer in the business in Dr. Buss. Putting up the billboard maybe wasn't the right thing. But we maybe have to learn to do things differently because Dr. Buss isn't here anymore. People said [of the billboards], 'Oh, that's not the Laker way.' Well, the Laker way isn't the same, because Dr. Buss isn't here."
Well it should be babygirl because his way worked. Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! Jerry Buss was around long enough for them to know that they weren’t running the team like he ran the joint. He built a freakin’ empire and in a matter of two years these duns, Jeanie and Jim, have destroyed the it because of pride alone.
When Ray Kroc died boyz didn’t completely change the formula that he used to build McDonald’s into a global impire. The freakin’ Cheeseburger and Big Mac have been the same since day one and they just added some stuff to the menu and kept it moving. When Walt Disney died they didn’t fire Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck and go get Rippy the Rhino bruh! They just added some joints to it and kept the formula for winning the same. When Mr. Crabs dies they aren’t gonna change the formula for making the Crabby Patty and expect to keep running Bikini Bottom playboy! The formula for their success has been laid out for you just don’t screw it up and that’s what these clowns have done with the Lakers.
These duns have replaced the Big Mac with the Big Mic, changed the name to McDowell’s and got a cat named Prince Hakeem from Zamunda fighting boyz in the lobby with a mop handle. Ruined the joint I say!
If Jerry Buss were still alive he wouldn’t have had to convince Buster Brown to stay because all of the pieces would have already been in place for him to stay. First of all, Phil would still have been coaching that team or at the very least Brian Shaw would be. When Phil decided to retire for the second time, Brian Shaw would have been elevated because he knows the offense that suits the Lakers personnel. No way ole boy would have run out and picked up Mike Brown to coach the Show Time Lakers.
Even with a brain fart, no way would he have fired a coach 5 games into the season without having Phil signed sealed and delivered already. Even with a second brain fart he wouldn’t have hired Mike D’Antoni with a .533 winning percentage to coach a team that doesn’t fit his style of coaching nor would he have signed a 147 year old point guard. Even in a drunken stupor he wouldn't have signed Buster Brown to a 1 year deal and allowed him to walk away only to get nothing in return! Between these two duns, Jeanie and Jim, it’s one bad decision after another.
Also if Jerry Buss were still alive, Kobe at 35 wouldn’t still think that he was the first option. He always preparing for the future with young superstars. Not holding on to old superstars that talk crazy to young superstars in the locker while running them off. Was Dwight soft? Sure he was but he was soft when they signed him. That's why I call him Buster Brown! However, when healthy there isn't a better center in the league! The Buss’ have allowed Kobe to ruin the franchise in the sense that no young superstar will ever commit to playing in LA until that dude retires. So now what?
Here’s my roof top screamer with his mouth open again, “Jay you sound like a fool! Kobe is the man and he’s still got it! Why wouldn’t he talk crazy to these young boyz comin’ in! He’s won 5 rings so he can do that!” Sure he’s got 5 rings but he wasn’t talking crazy to boyz when he was winning those joints. Out of the 5 coaches that he’s had, and oh yes playboy he’s had 5, he’s only been able to win titles with one of them! When Phil was in charge he kept his mouth closed because that was proper protocol for winning. You can’t slam your teammates in the media and expect to have good team chemistry in the locker room.
Boyz forget that the only reason the Lakers got rid of Shaq was because Jerry Buss was preparing for the future with the young superstar. He didn’t hold onto him because the team chemistry was eroding with both of them in the locker room, even though Shaq still had it. The proof of that is that he went to Miami and gave D. Wade some room to operate because he still commanded a double team and took them to a title.
The Lakers are about winning championships not about fighting just to make the playoffs bruh! There is no way Kobe can lead this team to the playoffs and win a title at this point in his career. Why? Because he’s 35 years old coming off of a torn Achilles and LeBron James is still alive and playing basketball.
Jerry Buss would have been aware of that and no way would he have let the best big man in the game get out of LA and pay Kobe $30 million and he won’t be ready to play until January. Not the Jerry Buss that built the Lakers into the joint that has 16 NBA titles and Showtime at the Forum and now at the Staples Center. Not that dude! All Jeanie and Jim had to do was look at the blueprint but pride got in the way.
Instead preparing to take over when the old man was puttin' in work they were kickin' it! That's why they always say, time flys when you're having fun! One day they're playing XBox and the next day they're running a franchise and have no idea what to do with it! Now the Lakers are probably one of the worst teams, if not the worst team and front office in the league. Stop me when I start lyin’ playboy!
