Mamba Nonsense

The famous philosopher, William James, once said, “Common sense and a sense of humor are the same thing, moving at different speeds. A sense of humor is just common sense, dancing.” Mark Twain was on some gangsta joints when he said, “It’s no wonder that truth is stranger than fiction. Fiction has to make sense.” Then Robert Frost had to let boyz know that he couldn’t be outdone when he said, “Forgive me my nonsense, as I also forgive the nonsense of those that think they talk sense.”

Frost must have been talking about all of these duns on the radio this week suggesting that Kobe should voluntarily take a pay cut to help the Lakers out! What? The Black Mamba will make $30.45 million this season alone playboy and get this, he probably won’t play until January because of the rehab of his Achilles rupture.

Now who exactly are these cats mad at, Kobe or the Lakers? If the team negotiated the contract to pay this dun then they gotta pay him. To even suggest that he take a pay cut is asinine pimpin’! Sure, the Lakers are a dumpster fire right now bruh because they’ve got a 156 year old point guard that can’t play defense or stay out of boyz way long enough to stay healthy. They still owe Pau Gasol $19.2 million on his contract and the Laker girls are starting to fall off.

Now how much of that is Kobe’s fault? So why should he take a pay cut to help the team that won’t make the playoffs either way. If he takes a pay cut and they pick up pieces they still have problems. A) Kobe still isn’t playing until possibly January! B) ole dull D’Antoni is still the coach and C) Jim Buss is still gonna make bad decisions! So why take a pay cut to change nothing?

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1^st! The same duns that are suggesting that the Mamba take a pay cut wouldn’t voluntarily take one on their jobs because I wouldn’t. The golden rule in business is “You’re ALWAYS worth what people are WILLING to pay you.” Don’t ever forget that playa.

Now let me slide over to the other side of the table big playa and put on my organizational consulting hat. Is Kobe the Laker’s problem? 1000 percent YES! Having that dun on the roster for $30 million will hit them in the luxury tax wallet for more than $50 million next season alone. They should have amnestied him along with Metta World Peace because the team is gonna suck either way. So save yourself the additional tax burden and prepare for the upcoming 2014 free agency and the LeBron sweepstakes all over again.

Again, Kobe is the problem in recruiting young superstars or superstars in their prime like LeBron because this dun still thinks that he’s 28, talks to boyz like he’s 65 and about to retire from the steel mill. He has no filter and will say any and everything about his teammates in the media which no superstar will tolerate and he WANTS THE FREAKIN' BALL all of the time. Nobody wants to play with a fool like that bruh.

If you’re going to rebuild then you gotta rebuild. You can’t rebuild with Kobe thinking that he’s still the first option and he’s 35 coming off of a ruptured Achilles playboy. Wheredeydodatat?

I’m all for ole boy getting his bread but it never should have come to this. You have to start rebuilding for the future before the future shows up at your front door. The Boston Celtics made that same mistake twice with both Big Three’s. They held on to Bird, McHale and Parrish for way too long and it killed the franchise for the next 20 years. Then they turned around and did it again with Ray Allen, KG and Paul Pierce. The Celtics are about to be irrelevant for the next 10 years easy bruh!

If the Lakers keep fooling around with Kobe, letting him run the joint while trying to keep him happy and miss out on getting key pieces over the next two seasons. they’ll become the Charlotte Bobcats real quick. Now who's fault is that? Jim "FREAKIN' Buss playboy. Kobe is just the dun driving the bus off of the Santa Monica Pier with his permission!
