"You sure you wanna do this playa?" |
For the past two years I’ve been arguing with cats about the comparison of Jordan vs. LeBron using age as the primary end point. I’ve been using that in the debate because you can't use number of years in the league because Jordan was older and more mature. MJ is gonna be 3 years older than LeBron in any comparison you put on the table using number of years in the league because he went to college.
If he's older he's gonna understand the game better because he's just plain older bruh. Therefore, making him a better player. So you can't use number of years in the league for the argument of who's better at playing the game at a young age because LeBron is just 28 and Mike would be 31.
Look bruh, there is a logical explanation as to why Mike and LeBron both didn't win a title until they got to a certain age. Mike was 28 and LeBron was 27! The frontal lobe on the human being where all judgement takes place does not fully form until age 25! So therefore, they weren't able to make the decisions necessary to LEAD a team to a championship until they were older. So again, age is the X-factor not number of years in the league.
I hear the Kobe and Magic fans screaming in the background, "My boy won a title before then. Now what?" They weren't the leaders on those teams yet bruh! Kobe road on Shaq and Magic had Kareem who had already won a title in Milwaukee playboy! Neither was completely charged with carrying the freakin' team to the ship like LeBron was starting at 18! Also it's completely unfair to compare LeBron's resume at 28 to Jordan’s resume at 35!

However, duns like to say that you can’t go off of age because Lebron came into the league 3 years earlier than Jordan. Look here pimpin’, you cannot give Jordan a pass for HAVING to go to college. Father Time didn’t give him 3 additional years on the back end of his career because he came into the league 3 years later.
I’m only comparing their ability to play the game of basketball playa. Boyz forget that between 18 and 21 Jordan was still playing basketball. He was still developing as a player bruh. You act like ole boy was frozen in some time capsule chillin' literally. He was still being tutored by one of the best coaches ever in Dean Smith. However, he was playing against lesser talent and at 18 he was the 3rd option on his COLLEGE team.
Whereas, LeBron between 18-21 was playing in the NBA against grown men that were professionals. At 18 he was the Rookie of the Year in the NBA!! My point in saying that is because he walked into an NBA locker room at 18 with all of the hype of being named the “Chosen One” and still lived up to the hype. As an 18 year old he was still looking for guidance and HAD to become the leader among grown men.
Jordan at 18 could learn from James Worthy and Sam Perkins on how to play the game without any pressure. So to tell me that it’s about number of years in the league is asinine because they were both playing basketball between 18-28 years old. Just sit down and look at them play bruh!
Stop thinking about the Jordan that won 6 titles and all of the other awards because they didn’t exist until after than dun turned 28! You keep throwing those joints on the table and you can’t because LeBron is just now 28! That’s like me telling my son that I make for money than he does! I can only compare pay checks at the same age to really compare my ability to get this bread vs. his ability to get it. I can't put my resume on the table and brag about it because he's still living and trying to get there. I don't know what he's gonna be able to do by the time he's my age.
Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! If you’ve got two basketball players that are 18 years old and one has been playing since he was 5 and the other didn’t start until he was 16. The college or NBA scout isn’t gonna ask the question, “Well how long have they both been playing?” He’s gonna ask, “Which one of these duns are better?”
If you looked at film of both LeBron and Jordan between 18 and 28 years old and took the names off of the jerseys. Then put the Blue Man Crew masks on their faces like the blind taste test. You would immediately say the shorter skinner guy is a scorer but he’s selfish. The bigger dude is a beast all the way around. Not only can he score at will but he shares the freakin’ ball and he can play and guard all 5 positions.
One stud is 6’6” 210 lbs. and the other stud is 6’8” 260 lbs. but the bigger dude is even more athletic than the smaller dude. Who ever this big dude is, he's better because he can do more! Stop me when I start lyin’ playboy!
