Goddell: "Dang son, you stretched 'um out!" Flacco: "Like elastic playa!" |
Boyz have been asking this question all year, “Is Joe Flacco an elite quarterback?” Well from the looks of his new contract not only is he an elite quarterback but he’s the best quarterback according to Mr. Joe. He and the Baltimore Ravens have agreed on a six-year, $120.6 million contract that will make him the highest paid quarterback in NFL history.
Ole Joe pulled a Sweet Lenny from Good Times on them boyz and said, “Look at the line, it’s really fine. If you got the money, then I got the time.” They tried to sign him to an extension last summer but ole boy decided to roll the dice and it paid off. These cats out here don’t realize that sports is a job for the athlete and merely entertainment for the fans. What’s important is getting paid and then winning in that order because their careers are so short.
Now if you’re blessed to win before getting the mega deal that’s a bonus. Most cats are looking to cash in after their rookie contract is up if they can and sign for major paper because that’s the contract that will hopefully secure their future. Flacco was just blessed enough to win a Super Bowl before his rookie deal expired and know he’s gettin’ it in!
I can hear some really naïve fans screaming now, “No athlete deserves that type of bread to play a stupid game. That’s just ridiculous! Teachers, firemen and police officers are the real hero’s!” That may be true and it all sounds good pimpin’ but they don’t generate revenue and the last I check the folks that generate revenue make the most money out here. If teachers, firemen and police officers were in it strictly for the money they wouldn’t have become teachers, firemen and police officers. Oh, that’s real talk playa!
Boyz be killin' me shouting from the roof tops on the teachers behalf that aren't even teachers! Stop with the "teachers don't make any money story" bruh! My mom is a retired educator, my sister teaches and my wife taught for a five years. They make as much bread as everybody else out here and they only work 9 months out of the freaking year. Oh yeah, they work 5 to 6 hours a day depending upon how that planning period is thrown in there! So stop it with the "lets feel sorry for the teacher" line. They're doing just fine bruh!
Again, unless you generate revenue (sales & marketing etc or have crazy advanced degrees.) most folks make the same type of bread with or without a college degree. On some real talk, it all comes down to hustle because I know a whole lot of duns without a degree that's making twice that of some cats with one! So later for feeling sorry for a boy for choosing their profession and they're completely fine with it because they love their jobs!
If it were ONLY a game I would agree. However, the NFL is a $9 billion dollar industry that is player driven. The league couldn't function without the players right? Especially the superstars! So therefore, they need to be paid handsomely for their services. Like Big Momma used to say, “They ain’t paying out what they ain’t making 10 times over! So don’t let them folks take advantage of you!”
Think about the amount of money the league makes in television contracts, jersey and other apparel sales, video game licensing and not to mention ticket sales. The league is also selling the likenesses of the players including Flacco and making a fortune.
EA Sports, the maker of the NFL Madden Football game, has sold more than 85 million copies of that joint since 1988. They have made more than $3 billion off of that game alone and you're telling me that duns like Joe Flacco shouldn't stretch these boyz out? Are you kidding me? The NFL sells the rights to EA Sports to use the player’s likeness! I would be on fire if I was in the league and every kid in America was me in a video game. I’m not mad at Ole Joe for hitting these boyz up. He deserves every dime that he shook out of their pockets!
With Baltimore winning the Super Bowl think of the financial impact that the team is having on the local economy too! This year alone the city stands to make upwards of $180 million from boyz spending money at restaurants, hotels bars, rental cars etc. So you're telling me that everybody should get paid but the duns that are responsible for everybody getting paid? Wheredeydodatat?
Based on the $120.6 million deal, Joe will make $168,908 every day of the regular season for the next six years! As crazy as it sounds, the money that he and his teammates will generate is probably 30 times that much daily! So don’t hate on Joe for listening to Big Momma because I’m quite sure if given the opportunity you would taken it too. I can hear Sweet Lenny now, " Hello foxy mommas! The name is Lenny, you may have had many, but until you've tried Sweet Lenny you ain't had any!" Go on with ya bad self Joe!!
Holla At Ya Boy!
