I'm not sure if the uniform does anything for my reputation. I'm still a buster ! |
Well on Thursday evening the LA Lakers proved once again that they were smarter than the competition too and that location, location, location is a major factor in doing business. In a block buster 4 team trade they finally acquired "Buster Brown" Dwight Howard. A source with direct knowledge of the trade told ESPN.com's Marc Stein that Nuggets will get Andre' Iguodala, the 76'rs will get Jason Richardson and Andrew Bynum, the Magic will pick up Arron Afflalo, Al Harrington and Nikalo Vucevic and one future protected 1st round pick from each team. They will also get the 76'rs 1st round draft pick Moe Hackless!
Now Howard still hasn't agreed to sign a long term deal with the Lakers but because they're LA they figure once I get this boy out here and he see's what Hollywood looks and feels like he'll commit long term. You know when he walks into the building they'll be bumpin' that ole school Bootsy Collins "Hollywood Squares! "Um LA Californ-I-A! City of Angels, Hollywood!"
Once he gets a taste of the Hollywood lifestyle and all of the celebrities at the games kissing his butt he ain't going nowhere bruh! He'll be hooked like a dope fiend in the ghetto and will forget all about dreams of playing in Brooklyn! Give him 6 months in LA and he won't know how to spell Brooklyn.
I keep telling you boyz that players don't win championships, organizations do as I explained in the Hot Joint entitled "The Firm." There is a reason why two NBA franchises have won more than 50% of all of the titles. Boston has won 17 and LA has won 16 of them. Why? Because they are in major cities, thus location, location, location and they have been better run historically than the other teams in the league.
It's easy for LA to acquire and keep talent because of the location and the championship history of the franchise. Boyz go to LA to play out the remainder of their careers for the most part. You've never hear of cats asking to be traded out of LA! Yeah, Kobe pulled a punk bluff move a few years ago and what did they do? They went out and robbed Memphis of Paul Gasol and kept it movin'! They're always going to get whatever they want bruh because it's LA and I'm not mad at them. Sure, David Stern blocked the Chris Paul trade last year but he was protecting his investment. That was a very rare situation but for the most part they can get whatever they want because of smarts and location!
Lets keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! The addition of both Howard and Steve Nash instantly makes LA a better squad. However, they're still the 2nd best team in the West! The Young Bloods are still the team to beat out there bruh! So unfortunately for LA they made a great move but the timing was bad.
Yes, Buster Brown is the best center in the league physically but he's still weak mentally. Playing with Kobe now will only expose him as the buster that I've been saying that he is. Any cat that can't make up his mind is weak. The Black Mamba will be very demanding of him and he'll fall apart and quit on them just like he did in Orlando. Also both Steve and Kobe are getting old and the Young Bloods are just getting better. The average age of their starting line up is 24. They've been to the Finals so they know what it takes to get there. Therefore, in my opinion, LA just upgraded for TV purposes because OKC is still the Don of the conference. Under normal circumstances it would have been a great move but they just can't overcome the youth and talent of OKC!
Don't even think about winning a title for at least 3 or 4 years as long as Miami is still playing in the NBA. Not only is the King still sitting on the throne but he's got Bosh, D. Wade and a host of out of town shooters on the roof. They got snipers, if you will, in Ray Allen (24 mins a night), Rashard Lewis, Shane Battier and Mike Miller. You can't get anywhere near the crib to steal the trophy because these boyz are going to pick you off as soon as you step onto the property. So congrats LA for the upgrade but you could have kept Bynum for what it's gonna do for you because right now, South Beach is prime real estate!
Holla At Ya Boy!
