"I really don't wanna do this but I don't know how to tell this dun!" |
Well playas…here’s the
problem with dreams and tryin’ to pursue them. They’ve gotta belong to you. On
Friday UCLA head coach Jim Mora informed boyz that Cordell Broadus, Snoop
Dogg’s son, would not be reportin’ to trainin’ camp and has decided to quit
before he even gettin’ started. Now the team reported to camp on last Monday
and that dun didn’t show up. It wasn’t until Thursday that he finally told a
boy why.
Let’s keep it real or all the
way 100, whichever comes 1st! All of the media-types for the past
couple of days have been sittin’ around tryin’ to figure out how he all of a
sudden came to the decision that he didn’t want to play. Well let me tell you
somethin’ playboy that dun hasn’t wanted to play for a few years now. You don’t
just wake up when it’s time to go to camp and change your mind. It wasn’t his
dream!!! It was his old man’s!!!
If you paid attention to the
freakin’ reality show that ESPN was runnin’ called “Snoop & Son, A Dad’s
Dream” the darn title told you everything you needed to know. You really didn’t
even have to watch it. The title said it all. Every time the joint came on you
saw Snoop goin’ off about the dun’s work ethic. C’mon bruh! Work ethic is
fundamental! It’s like breathin’! If I’ve got to tell you to do that you don’t
wanna play and you darn sure don’t wanna be great!! And that’s the edited
version! Regardless as to whether you have the DNA or not.
Let me put it where the goats
can get it. Snoop is worth $135 million bruh. Do really think his son is gonna
go out here and bust his butt to be great? And again, that’s the edited
version. It’s like playin’ spades and you’ve always got the lil’ Joker, the big
Joker and all of the spades. All you’re doin’ is slammin’ cards all night every
night. You’ve got everything so why put forth the effort.
Most cats that are out here
hustlin’ are hustlin’ because they’re hungry. It’s rare to find a boy that will
hustle when his stomach is full.
So am I surprised that the
dun didn’t show up for camp? Not at all! Because his old man wanted to play
more than he did. We can’t make our kids be great. And they don’t become great
through osmosis. They’ve got to decide on their own what they’re gonna be.
Snoop just didn’t have the wherewithal to see that ole boy didn’t wanna play.
It’s call forcin’ your kid to play because you wanted to re-live your child
hood through your kid. He’s gotta be who he’s gonna be on his own.
Now it’s come to this. I’m
not mad at the kid for decidin’ to step away because playin’ at the next level
is even more demandin’ and if you don’t wanna play it becomes a nightmare. But
if Snoop had just asked the dun if he really wanted to play 5 years ago we
wouldn’t be talkin’ about it today bruh.
Now I knew a whole bunch of
cats in college that didn’t necessarily want to play but they were good enough
to get a scholarship. They showed up because their momma’s and daddy’s didn’t
have $135 million to send them to school. So a boy would tell you in a minute
that they didn’t care a lick about playin’ ball but this is the only way I’m
gettin’ a degree. So let’s do this!
Snoop’s son doesn’t have that
problem so he didn’t show up. However, I wish him luck in whatever he decides
to do. Stop me when I start lyin’!
Playas Thesaurus:
1)
Dun: the person
in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about playa and its
non-gender specific.
2)
Let me put it
where the goats can get it: To break it down so that you can understand me. To
put it in it’s simplest terms.
Holla At Ya Boy!
