The Lox (How GMA & the Today Show completely disrespected the Chicago boyz)

"If we're the champs then we want our props!"
Julius Erving once said, “I firmly believe that respect is a lot more important, and a lot greater, than popularity.” Barry Bonds hit a homerun when he said, “Everyone in society should be a role model, not only for their own self-respect but for respect from others.” Then the big homie Laurence Sterne, the 18th century Anglo-Irish novelist, shut the buildin’ down with, “Respect from ourselves guides our morals, respect for others guides our manners.”

Well the mainstream news media didn’t follow that formula on Monday mornin’ playboy! The duns on Good Morning America and the Today Show had no manners when they had Mo’ne Davis and the Taney Little League team on their shows instead of havin’ the United States World Series Champions on. The young thunder cats from Jackie Robinson West won the title bruh not Mo’ne and Co.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! How disrespectful is it to have the team on that actually came in third place the first business day after the championship. Not only did these duns by-pass the actual champions but they jumped the Las Vegas team too. Wheredeydodatat? At least Vegas played in the actual championship game bruh!

I know that Mo’ne has become a media darlin’ and the world has fallen in love with her but she lost playa. Talk to her later this week. Holla to the cats that actually won the freakin’ championship day one. Are you kiddin’ me?

What blew my mind is the amount of duns out here that actually agreed with GMA and the Today Show’s actions sayin’, “Man Mo’ne was a great story and that they should have talked to her because it may never happen again. She’s more popular that’s why people wanted to see her.” What? Like an all-black team from the ghetto where brothers don’t even play baseball is gonna happen again anytime soon? Brothers don’t play baseball anymore bruh! That's remarkable in and of itself that they showed up in the first place. Let alone win the darn thing! And that's the edited version.

You’re hollerin’ about Mo’ne bein’ more popular? LeBron James is more popular than the entire San Antonio Spurs team playboy but he lost! The president isn’t gonna have the Miami Heat over to the White House instead of the Spurs because he’s more popular. Or better yet the freakin’ Indiana Pacers since they lost to Miami to get into the championship. How about sendin’ KD and the OKC Thunder to the White House since we’re givin’ the most popular teams all of the attention for not winnin’ jack squat?

When the Seattle Seahawks won the Super Bowl last year they didn’t have the freakin’ Denver Broncos on every show the next day. If you can’t see the disrespect in that then something is wrong with you playa. You can’t justify that! Wrong is wrong!

I even had a dun tell me yesterday that when he was playin’ ball he didn’t compete for the props! Listen playa, if you didn’t compete for the props then why were you even playin’? The only reason that you compete in life is to first prove to yourself that you’re better than the dun that you’re competin’ against. And secondly, to let that same dun know that you’re better than he or she is. There is no other reason to get up in the mornin’ and put on your game face bruh.

The word itself tells you why you’re doin’ what you’re doin’ playa! Competition is derived from the Latin word “Competere” which means to strive for. Later it evolved into “Competitio” which is rivalry and then on to the English term “Compete” and in the early 17th century we got the word “Competition.” So if you aren’t “strivin’ for" and "in rivalry with” then why are you even out here playa.

To say that you didn’t compete for the props is to tell me that you’re out here workin’ for free. Because the only reason that you get up in the mornin’ and go hard in the paint is to get this bread. You wouldn’t compete for the next opportunity if the that opportunity didn’t come with, in my Lox and Lil’ Kim voice, “Money, Power, Respect.” So stop lyin’ to yourself playboy and keep it real. If you win you want what comes with it. I’ve never been satisfied with how I feel internally because I’ve always thought that I was the best. When I win I want boyz to admit that I’m best that way it confirms to me that I’m not crazy.

Don’t tell me that the kids from Jackie Robinson West weren’t highly upset that boyz were talkin’ to some cats that they beat the brakes off of instead of them.

To say that it was more important to talk to Mo’ne and Co. than the actual winners is to say that what these young thunder cats accomplished wasn’t meaningful. You told every kid in the ghetto on Monday that even if they’re great it doesn’t mean anything. You told them that even if you do all of the things that you’re supposed to do the world is still gonna pick and choose who they want to hold up and more often than not it’s not gonna be you. But the world wonders why our young black boys are walkin’ around mad at the world. Because you constantly tell them that they don't mean anything to you.

Winnin’ isn’t good enough! However, we’ve told our children to compete at the highest level and you will be recognized for your efforts. Somebody’s lyin’ out here bruh and it ain’t me.

To have the third place team on TV in anyway, shape or form the day after the champs represented the United States in a great game against South Korea tells me all I need to know about what people think of our little ghetto children in this country. Absolutely nothin’!

They’ve overcome the impossible growin’ up in Chi-Raq as they call it now because of the amount of shootings and killings in Chicago. They didn’t have the luxury of just goin’ to practice and comin’ home without dodgin’ “Land Mines” as I explained to boyz over the weekend. They live in a war zone and somehow had the strength and mental capacity to compete at a high enough level to win the United States Championship and the duns on the national shows dissed them for the third place team.  And don't me give the line, "Well Mo'ne is from inner-city Philly." She and her team didn't win the title playa! So it’s utterly disrespectful to have them on and not the duns that actually won. I just thought that I’d say it since nobody else had the gonads to! Stop me when I start lyin’!
