If you're anything like me you've been visualizing the Sooner Schooner running out of the tunnel in Norman or being on board with the Volunteer Navy singing Rocky Top or leaning back as "The Victors" win in the "Big House". There is nothing more exciting than being on a college campus on Saturday morning in the fall!
Can you hear them "Waking up the Echo's" with Touchdown Jesus or spending your day thinking about Bevo and the "Eyes of Texas"; Listening for Mike the Tiger to roar way down in "Death Valley" or the Gator's chomping in the "Swamp"; Looking up for the "War Eagle" of Auburn, thinking about lining up "Between the Hedges" and running with the Dawgs or rolling with the Tide in Tuscaloosa or about strutting in on the Trojan Horse with the "Men of Troy" or riding high with Chief Osceola and Renegade at Doak-Campbell.
Whatever your flavor we've got it! College Football Season is officially here! All we really need is to get the best announcer in the history of sports, Keith Jackson, to do just one game! I can hear him now saying, "Welcome to South Bend, Indiana on a fine crisp autumn day. Where Touchdown Jesus will be overseeing the rituals today." Or how about my man Brent Mustburger saying, "You are looking live at at Ohio Stadium where the Buckeyes will host the Michigan Wolverines for the annual battle to determine who goes to Pasadena!" I'm getting chills just thinking about it!
Let's take it all in and enjoy the moments of the 2011 college football season! Whoever you follow just make sure to have the time of your life and may the best teams get to New Orleans! If my Sooners are lucky enough to get there and plays your team whoever is the lowest ranked (#2) buys the gumbo and bread pudding!
