Super Bowl Cookin'

Who's Cookin' What?

The Super Bowl is literally one of the biggest holiday's of the year. Well... it's an unofficial holiday, but you wouldn't now it by the way people party. I don't know why the NFL won't listen to me and just move the Super Bowl to Saturday night. Then we can really get it in. How many times do you go to a Super Bowl party only to leave at half time because you've got to go to work the next morning? Not a good look at all.
I know that the NFL wants to keep pushing "Super Bowl Sunday" because it's traditional to say it. But let's keep it real, it would be a lot more fun if it were "Super Bowl Saturday". Either way, I know everyone will be throwing down in the kitchen or the grill. Here's just a few examples what my buddies will be cookin' up.

"G.I. Boy"
Leon "Daddy Lee" Williams (Indianapolis, In)

"For the Super Bowl my Hot Wings all ways the still the show. I must say you have to drop all the rules because you will be licking your fingers.
Then Dionne (wife) throws it down with her mouth watering Chili.

Dr Bridge and his big green egg!
"Just What The Doctor Ordered"
Dr. Thomas "Doc" Bridge (Lafayette, In)

" I am going to be doing a couple things in addition to the usual sides etc. Definitely will be having Tabasco sweet dill pickles!

Going to be smoking a beef brisket on my Big Green Egg..  Made my chili con carne this am already.

Smoked Beef Brisket
Full brisket 7-8 lbs with the fat cap left on
Your favorite dry rub (I use Byron’s Butt Rub)
2 cups of sugar
1-2 onions sliced
1 bottle of your favorite beer

The night before liberally apply the dry rub to both sides of your brisket and refrigerate over night.
The next morning prepare your smoker for an eight hour smoke. Use lump charcoal and your favorite wood for smoking—mesquite or hickory are good choices
Heat smoker to a temperature of 225 degrees.
Rub one cup of sugar on each side of brisket
Enjoy with some of Jays favorite Tabasco dill  pickles and a cold beverage." -Doc-
