Quackin' (The REAL reason Lance should be runnin' the point for thePacers)

"Watch out bruh! I got this!"
As I settle into press row at Bankers Life Fieldhouse the usher, the beer woman and the cotton candy guy get into an argument about redemption. Richard von Weizsaecker, the German politician, said, “Seeking to forget makes exile all the longer; the secret of redemption lies in remembrance.” John Piper, the famous theologian, got fired up and said, “Redemption is not perfection. The redeemed must realize their imperfections.” Then Patti Smith, the famous singer-songwriter, dropped all of the beer on boyz with, “The idea of redemption is always good news, even if it means sacrifice or some difficult times.”

Well the Indiana Pacers have had some difficult times over the past several weeks and at times they’ve seemed to simply implode. However, on Sunday these boyz went to work on the young guns from OKC 102-97 to regain the lead in the East. Big Momma always says, “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger!”

After beating the Pacers in Miami on Friday and giving themselves a half game advantage on the race in the East. That Philistine and Co. went to Atlanta on Saturday, got caught up like boyz usually do in the “A” and took an “L.” So with that loss both Indiana and Miami had matching records (54-26) like duns on twin day in high school.

Let me say this playa, any cat that participated in that foolishness was a sucka and should be scarred for life. Also the dun that let his girl talk him into that nonsense needed to have his teeth removed and put back in upside down bruh. So you already know that having matching records wasn’t gonna fly with boyz even though the Pacers owned the tie breaker because they had a better conference record than the Heat.

With that being said, the Pacers came to play on Sunday as David West lit the match and got boyz rolling with 21 points and 6 rebounds as Paul George put 20 and 12 in the kitty. C.J. Watson and Ian Mahinmi stepped off in the joint and dropped season highs of 20 and 11 respectively. Lance The Don Dada Mr. #BornReady himself put on the entire clown suit with the jumbo shoes and the splitting flower and took these boyz to the Rucker as he delivered his NBA leading 5th triple double of the season with 17 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! While everybody’s in the alley squabbin’ with these young Thunder cats, ole Roy Hibbert is still sittin’ in the car listenin’ to some Marvin Gaye eating some Long’s donuts with his feet hangin’ out of the window. He got out momentarily and gave ‘em 6 rebounds and got back in the ride, put on some Luther and went to sleep bruh. That dun was 0-9 from the field! I’m just sayin’!

Now don’t get it twisted, I’m not gonna let George Hill sneak past the fellas either. He was sittin’ right next to Roy with his seat belt on and the car wasn’t even moving. He’s supposed to be running the point and had 2 dimes and 3 points.

Will somebody please tell me why my boy Lance isn’t just running the point? That dun was essentially playing the point most of the night and when asked about it ole Frank just said, “Well that was just Lance being Lance trying to take over.” Ok…if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, farts like a duck, it’s a duck playboy! If he’s got the personality of a point, plays like a point and dishes like a point then play him at the point for crying out loud. George Hill isn’t a point.

Now on some real talk, you gotta take the good with the bad with Lance bruh! You gotta tell the beer man to keep his head on a swivel at all times with that dun on the floor. Every now and then he'll send one up into the stands on a boy and knock some kid's Nachos out of his hands but that's Ok. He's gonna land more than he misses and the no look joints make the crowd go crazy. Just put the disclaimer on the ticket for all boyz sitting in the first 4 rows like they do at the Nascar races. "Sitting in this area may be hazardous to your health. You may get hit with a Lance Stephenson no look pass at any moment. However, the experience of getting hit will last for a lifetime! Enjoy the game and we aren't responsible for lost beer or Nachos!"

So now all the Pacers have to do is win in Orlando on Wednesday and they clinch the No.1 seed in the East or a Miami loss on Monday in DC or at home against Philly Wednesday would lock things up. But let’s keep it real playa, the only chance of the Heat losing would be to the Wizards tonight because me, the Pacemates and Boomer with me only shooting with my little hand could beat the Sixers at this point.

So if the Pacers can end up with the No.1 seed all will be forgotten of the past month around this piece. Sylvester Stallion said it best, “Most action is based on redemption and revenge, and that’s a formula. Moby Dick was formula. It’s how you get to the conclusion that makes it interesting." Therefore, I can’t wait until the playoffs start this weekend. So in my Bart Scott voice, “Can’t Wait!” And stop me when I start lyin’ playboy!
