Note: I didn't include Jim Brown or Gayle Sayers because during the time that they played they were bigger and faster than anyone on the field. The defensive competition level wasn't even close. For example, Jim Brown was 6'2" 232 lbs in 1955. Corners were 5'8" 155 lbs at that time and couldn't run. I can't put them on my list because I just don't know how good either one of them were relative to guys that played post 1970.
What's your opinion?
Hard to argue too much about your top five but I do have to point out the lack of championships. With that said I could make a strong argument for Emmitt Smith, Franco Harris and Eric Dickerson. Although Dickerson didn't win a championship he has to be on every top 5 list, besides he spent some time in INDY!
