"Man what's going on?" |
Now I can understand that the Redskins are mathematically out of the playoffs and Shanahan is looking for solutions to their problems, but this isn't it. How can you justify sitting your best option and playing Rex Grossman. What is Shanahan smoking? I completely understood why he was giving Haynesworth the blues. He wasn't putting forth the effort in no way shape or form. Donovan has been nothing but a professional throughout this whole situation. Not to mention he just signed a 5 year extension worth $78 million with $3.5 million guaranteed after he was benched the first time this season.
That didn't make any sense at all. Sounds to me like the Owner Dan Snyder wants McNabb and Coach Shanahan doesn't. If that's the case then they need to sit down and handle their business first and then deal appropriately with the player. Because in my view of things it's completely disrespectful of them to treat a man of such professionalism in this manner. If he's not your guy then be straight up!
If McNabb is still on the roster at the end of the season they'll have to pay him a $10 million bonus. If they cut him, they'll owe him $3.5 million. Now what do you think is going to happen before the season is over? What was the point in signing Donovan to an extension if the coach didn't want him in the first place. I hope they fail miserably today playing Grossman. Shanahan already has a near riot on his hands because the players are very angry about this situation and the fact that he's given up on the season. If I were on that team I'd be upset too. Do you think Shanahan is more to blame for the Redskins problems or McNabb?
