Cam Newton wins the Davey O'Brien Award

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Auburn's Cam Newton has won the Davey O'Brien Award presented to the nation's best quarterback.
The Heisman Trophy favorite became the third player to throw for at least 20 touchdowns and also rush for 20-plus scores in a season while leading the unbeaten Tigers (13-0) to the Southeastern Conference championship and a spot in the Bowl Championship Series national title game.
The other finalists for the award were Stanford's Andrew Luck and Boise State's Kellen Moore.
Newton's opponent in the Tostitos BCS National Championship Game, Oregon's LaMichael James, won the Doak Walker Award as the nation's best running back.
Oklahoma State's Kendall Hunter and Wisconsin's John Clay were the other finalists.
Oklahoma State's Justin Blackmon won the Biletnikoff Award presented annually to college football's best receiver.
The other finalists were Oklahoma's Ryan Broyles and South Carolina's Alshon Jeffery.
LSU cornerback Patrick Peterson took home the Jim Thorpe Award as the nation's best defensive back.
TCU safety Tejay Johnson and Nebraska cornerback Prince Amukamara were the other finalists.
D.J. Williams of Arkansas won the John Mackey Award as the nation's top tight end.
The senior had 49 catches for 589 yards and four touchdowns for the Razorbacks.
The other finalists for the award were Missouri's Michael Egnew and Wisconsin's Lance Kendricks.
The players were honored Thursday night during the College Football Awards Show at Disney World.
