Collars (The REAL reason Golden State has no shot at beatin' Memphis)

Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy.” Then Diane Sawyer shut the buildin’ down with, “Whatever you want in life, other people are going to want it too. Believe in yourself enough to accept the idea that you have an equal right to it.”

Well playas…the Memphis Grizzlies not only believe that they have equal right to wins over Golden State but that they’re entitled to more! That’s why a boy is up 2-1 in the series after doin’ damage in the Grind House on Saturday night 99-89.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1^st! I told you boyz before the playoffs started that neither Golden State nor Atlanta would make the Finals because they were jump shootin’ teams and at some point you’ve got to put your back to the rack and play ball. Both of these duns are down 2-1 right now and strugglin’!

Memphis put that thang on Golden State in Game 2 bumpin’ the Oakland sound and couldn’t wait to get back to the crib to give ‘em some Memphis blues, Rock N Roll, hip hop and R&B all wrapped up into one. Boyz were so confident goin’ into Game 3 that they were “Space Age Pimpin’” with Eight Ball & MJG durin’ shoot around. They had the formula to beat these duns and couldn’t wait to put it down again.

All they’ve gotta do is play crazy defense and stay in the shooters face. The Splash Brothers are deadly if you give them space but if you get inside them boyz they can’t hurt you as evidenced through the first two games when they were held to just 9 of 30 from downtown. In Game 3 with that 'Gorilla Pimp' bumpin’ in the background they held them to 5 of 16 from behind the arc. Ole Project Pat was in the buildin’ even if he wasn’t in the buildin’ playa.

All year I kept tellin’ boyz that you can’t get to the Finals shootin’ three’s pimpin’! You gotta grind your way there with a boy or boyz that can bang in the paint. Of course I thought that San Antonio would get there but the Clip Joint banged a little harder. Golden State is too soft in the ‘draws’ to get there. Ole Marc Gasol and Z-Bo put that Tela on and went to work on these boyz “Sho Nuff”! By the end of the night they had put up between the two of them 43 points and grabbed 23 rebounds. And all you could hear on the Warriors bench was Bobby Blue Bland singin’, “Ain’t No Love in the Heart of the City.” Boyz were shook and didn’t know what to do about it because they were caught in the Grind. I swear I could hear Elvis in the parkin’ lot singin’ that “All Shook Up” on a boy because the jump shot wasn’t fallin’ playa.

Now insanity is doin’ the same thing over and over again expectin’ a different result. Unfortunately, that’s the only game the Warriors know how to play. So these duns are OFFICIALLY in trouble. If they can’t shoot the rock against that defense and they can’t play with their backs to the rack you may as well put on that Three 6 Mafia for a boy, “Its Hard Out Here for a Pimp” and let it be what it’s gonna be. And while you’re at it, go ahead and put on that “Poppin’ My Collar” on for all them boyz down in Memphis! Excuse my grammar but that’s just how it goes in the Grind. Stop me when I start lyin’!
