  Dwayne Wade scored 38 points on 14-of-21 shooting, James Jones set a Miami postseason record with 25 points off the bench, and the Heat beat the Celtics 99-90 on Sunday to open their Eastern Conference semifinal series. "It's a big game. It's Game 1, at home," Wade said. "You've got to take care of home court. These guys expect this from me. I wasn't giving it to them in the regular season versus them and I wanted to come out today and be a leader."

LeBron James finished with 22 points, six rebounds and five assists for Miami, which led by as many as 19 before a fiery finish that saw plenty of players jawing at each other -- more than that in some cases. Paul Pierce was ejected with 7 minutes left, after picking up two technicals in skirmishes with Wade and Jones within a span of 59 seconds.

Put your seat belts on for the rest of this series. I still believe that the Celtics have a better chance of beating the Heat because they've got the experience on their side. LeBron is my guy but they still have a difficult time closing out tight ball games. So if the Heat are going to win this series they can't lose a game at home. No doubt about it.

It will get progressively more intense when the series goes back to Boston. The Celtics will be virtually impossible to beat at home as well. So the X-factor for either team is to win just one game on the road and take care of business at home. That sounds easy enough but it isn't.

I'm just going to keep my popcorn ready because it should be a great series to watch. From all indications it's going to be a very physical match up. Almost reminds me of  Detroit and Chicago going at it in the '90's. I can handle that, can you? I thought that the second technical foul and ejection of Paul Pierce was a terrible call and it had a huge impact down the stretch.If the refs are going to call it that close during the rest of the series it's going to be a problem because you know boys are going to be physical and talk tall trash.

I'm just happy to see the Heat make it this far in the playoffs and finish with the second best record in the East because of all of the hate that LeBron got over the summer. Even if they don't win it all they've held their own and that's respectable in my opinion. Anybody that knows anything about sports wouldn't have expected them to win the whole thing this year anyway. They're at least a year away from being a championship team.

Now they could win it this year but if they don't you can't hate on them. Boston, in my opinion, is the best all around team in the East and should win a best of 7 series against both Miami and Chicago but the games still have to be played.
