Boot Up (Why rest alone won't be enough for the Pacers to slay that Philistine & Co. tonight)

"Like I said playboy, It's on and poppin'!"
Mortimer Adler, the famous American philosopher, once said, “The philosopher ought never to try to avoid the duty of making up is mind.” Jerry Cantrell, the lead guitarist for Alice in Chains, kept it real with, “Like everybody, I’m making up my life as I go along.” Then Quintilian, the Roman rhetorician, gave it to us like this, “While we are making up our minds as to when we shall begin, the opportunity is lost.”

Well playboy, the opportunity is sittin’ right in the Indiana Pacers lap on South Beach as we speak. Is it a table dance or an illusion? We’ll soon find out. They’re a half game up on the Miami Heat at this point and they’ve got a date with the Philistine tonight. It doesn’t matter how bad they’ve played over the past month. If they can pull off a win tonight everybody watchin’ the joint in Indiana will suddenly have amnesia and all will be forgiven.

Frank Vogel came off looking like a genius on Wednesday night after resting his entire starting five as the bench showed up and like Big Momma used to say, “Showed out” to beat the dull Bucks 104-102. On Sunday he benched ole juice box throwing and diaper wearing Hibbert for what he says was ole boy being worn down. According to PG it was just a bad match up for Roy etc. because Pero Antic was able to play on the perimeter and put the ball on the floor. All of that sounded good but Pero wasn’t on the other 9 or 10 teams where that dun wouldn’t get out of the ride either. I’m just sayin’! Antic hadn't kept Hibbert from scoring or rebounding since the All-Star break so I don't want to hear that playa.

But let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! The fellas have had the entire week off and the batteries have been recharged. My question is, have they had a Kumbaya moment around the campfire this week? Rest is good for the legs but rest doesn’t erase from a boyz memory the fact that Hibbert called some of his teammates selfish a week ago.

Keep in mind playboy, we’re dealing with some young cats that didn’t grow up together. See when you grow up with a boy you can beef and be cool tomorrow because you’ve been to war with this cat, literally. And even though you thought that he was selfish you always told him that and not the whole school. By Roy hollerin’ at the media he told the entire school how he felt about his teammates and that’s a violation of the Hood Code of Conduct Section 4, Rule 8, Article 3!

So hopefully during this week of rest they sorted out all of the foolishness as a team and are ready to get in tonight because they’re at the cusp of fulfilling a major goal of becoming the No.1 seed in the East.

Now you know that the Philistine and Co. aren’t just going to take their helmets off and let the Pacers get a clean look with the sling shot. Naw bruh, that Philistine is gonna be in the full armor tonight! He's gonna have on the chin guards, the breast plate, the shoulder protectors and the sword!

So the Pacers are going to have to earn every bucket, every rebound and every turnover. That means all hands on deck playa. In my Any Hood, USA vernacular, “Boot Up” because it’s on and poppin’ in South Beach and I ain’t talkin’ about at the spots on Ocean Drive either. Stop me when I start lyin’!

PS: Check me out on the Dan Dakich Show 1070TheFan today at 1:30pm eastern choppin’ it up with my man Bruno about the tonight’s joint on South Beach and little bit more!
