College Football Is Still In Style!

"It's almost time to get it in!"
The greatest game in the world is college football. I just love the intensity that it's played with but more importantly the intensity that the fans play with. Even after former Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel was forced to resign this past week the Buckeye Nation is still going strong in support for him and more importantly beating Michigan.

He told people at a rally on his front doorstep that he would always be a Buckeye and that the team will beat Michigan again this November. After a crowd of some 200 people had sung a song disparaging the arch rival Wolverines early Saturday evening, Tressel said, "Don't forget: Nov. 26th we're going to kick their ass!"

I love it! The guy has been fired and he's still talking trash about beating the Wolverines in November and I bet that he'll be on the fifty yard line too. It doesn't get any better than that. No matter who's at the helm the thought process is, "We're still gonna put our foot into the Michigan Wolverines.

Even though it's June, college football fans are thinking about tailgating, fight songs and game day traditions. If you're anything like me you're trying to visualize the Sooner Schooner running out of the tunnel in Norman or being on board with the Volunteer Navy singing Rocky Top or leaning back as "The Victors" win in the "Big House".

"Waking up the Echo's" with Touchdown Jesus and thinking about Bevo and the "Eyes of Texas"; Listening for Mike the Tiger to roar way down in "Death Valley" or the Gator's chomping in the "Swamp"; Looking up for the "War Eagle" of Auburn, thinking about lining up "Between the Hedges" and running with the Dawgs or rolling with the Tide in Tuscaloosa or about strutting in on the Trojan Horse with the "Men of Troy" or riding high with Chief Osceola and Renegade at Doak-Campbell.

Whoever your team is in about ninety days you'll be front and center getting it all in. Boy, it's the best time of the year! Can't wait for Labor Day weekend when it all kicks off. The NFL can do whatever they want to do but I'll be in Norman soaking it all in bruh! Do you think that the good old folks in College Station, Lincoln, South Bend, Columbus, Happy Valley, Ann Arbor, Baton Rouge, Madison or Austin care if the NFL kicks off in September? Not a chance!

Yeah I realize that the NFL is a $9 billion dollar industry but college football fans like myself could care less if they play pro football or not!The playoff starts in September and runs all season long. One slip up can cost you and you've got to pay attention to the entire chess board because it moves constantly. So they can argue back and forth about the Collective Bargaining Agreement if they won't to. But I'm gonna be singing "Boomer Sooner"  this fall regardless. I know my college football fans can feel me on that. Check in with me from your favorite team and give me your favorite game day tradition! Holla At Ya Boy!
