If Bo Was Still Alive!

If Bo was still alive...
We wouldn't be watching Michigan Football being dragged through the mud.
They would be going into the off season like normal.
Recruiting the best players in the country and signing them
If Bo was still alive...

There never would've been a Rich Rod era at Michigan.
"Only a Michigan Man will coach a Michigan team", according to Bo.
If Bo was still alive...

The Program rocked in scandal and on NCAA probation.
A spread offense in the Big House?
Not if Bo was still alive...

A Michigan coach would never have said, "I didn't realize that it was as big as it is.
You'd never here a coach of the mighty Wolverines tell it's fan base to get a life.
If Bo was still alive...

The most celebrated program in college football history in shambles.
  • Most all-time wins in college football history (884)
  • Highest all-time winning percentage in college football history (.735)
  • The most winning seasons (112)
  • The most undefeated seasons of teams currently competing in Division I-A/FBS (23)
  • One of only three schools with a winning record against every Division I-A/FBS conference
Not if Bo was still alive....

No way would  A. D. Dave Brandon fire a head coach in January without naming a successor, leaving all of it's recruits hanging in the balance, understanding that signing date is just one month away.
If Bo was still alive...

Of Course, Dave Brandon would've been fired and leaving in the same u-haul with Rich Rod for handling this situation so poorly. Waiting a whole month to dismiss a coach because if he'd fired him in December the payout would've been $2 million more. It's Michigan for crying out loud! They could've made that money back in Jersey sales tomorrow, but to hold the program hostage for $2 million? Wouldn't have happened.
If Bo was still alive...

The problem is... Bo isn't still alive and he's got to be turning over in his grave. His celebrated Wolverines looking like a cheap impostor at a rummage sale these days. So who's going to step up and carry the flag for "The Victors" now? I mean the person that will represent Michigan like Bo did. The guy that will bleed Michigan Blue and when he says, "Go Blue" it's genuine and doesn't sound rehearsed. A man that will understand that "The Game"(Ohio State) isn't just a game. Well... who will it be? We'd know already.
If Bo was still alive...

  2. Excellent read. As a Michigan alum, it was painful to watch, except for a few great moments from Denard Robinson, yet another mediocre UM football season. Losing to arch rivals Ohio State and Michigan State only exacerbated the misery. :-) Hopefully Rich Rod's departure will make way for UM's resurgence and allow a "Michigan man" - Jim Harbaugh or Les Miles - or quite simply, a great coach and leader to take the helm.
