"Man this is some....!" |
Jerry has always been in the way, even when the Cowboys were winning. In 1989 after purchasing the team for $140 million from H. R. “Bum” Bright he fired legendary coach Tom Landry and replaced him with his college roommate Jimmy Johnson the former head coach at the University of Miami. Jimmy was a proven winner at Miami after going to back to back national title games in ’86 and ’87. He won the title in ’87 with Hall of Fame wide receiver Michael Irving who later played for him in Dallas. Can a man be fired after winning two straight Super Bowls’? Well Jimmy was let go after winning titles in ’92 and ’93. Remember that? Or maybe you can remember a guy named Barry Switzer from the University of Oklahoma that was hired after Jimmy Johnson was shown the door. Now once again Barry was a proven winner at OU. He’d won three national titles (’73,’74,’85) during his tenure with the Sooners. All Barry did was come in and win the Super Bowl in 1995. Guess what? He was fired too.
It’s like a woman that keeps saying that her last 4 husbands were crazy but she can’t wrap her mind around the fact that she’s the common denominator. Jerry will fire Jason Garrett and the next coach because he wants complete control. That’s ok Jerry because you own the team and you can do with it what you like. Just remember that your fans are suffering at the expense of your ego. Stop beating around the bush and promote yourself to head coach because that’s what you ultimately want. You’d just look stupid at this point doing it. What's your opinion?
