Sleep Walkin' (How and why an NBA Draftee can actually survive onbread & women alone)

"It just got real bruh!"
Walt Disney once said, “All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.” Colin Powell was holdin’ court when he said, “A dream doesn’t become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work.” Then the big homie Jesse Owens ran past a boy and said, “We all have dreams. But in order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline and effort.”

Well playboy…the day that boyz have been dreamin’ of their entire lives is upon us. Draft day! In the hood they call it Mother's Day! It’s the culmination of events durin’ a process of preparation for the rest of your basketball career. DNA for the most part has gotten many of these cats here but hard work and discipline will be the determinin’ factor as to how much success they have goin’ forward.

Let’s keep it real or all the way, 100 whichever comes 1st! There are two types of duns in the NBA playa. Those that love the game of basketball and those that love what the game of basketball can do for them. The first group of cats will succeed and the second group will pick up a check until they waste away in the league or not.

Why? Because unfortunately, some cats have enough DNA to sleep walk through a career without knockin’ any furniture over. Can you say Derrick Coleman bruh? Comin’ out of Syracuse he was the No.1 pick overall and exploded onto the scene. He was named the 1991 Rookie of the Year and then he simply put that joint in neutral for the next fourteen years. Why? Because he loved what the game of basketball could do for him instead of lovin’ the game of basketball playboy.

Here’s my idiot fan that knows more than anybody breathin'! “How do you know that ole boy didn’t love the game of basketball? Did you ask him? “Naw pimpin’, I simply watched him! Big Momma always said, “You don’t have to ask a person how they really feel about something because their actions will tell you everything you wanna know.”

Derrick Coleman was flat out better than ninety percent of cats walkin’ around so without puttin’ forth an effort he was able to play in the NBA for 15 years. It’s that DNA I keep talkin’ about.

So the question is, who in this draft class loves the game of basketball and who loves what the game can do for them? Who’s in it for the show and who’s in it simply for the bread and the women? Now don’t get it twisted, the bread and the women come with the package playboy. However, can a boy keep all three in the air and keep his job as the No. 1 priority?

I’m not sayin’ that the bread and the women aren’t important at 19, 20, 21 years old but the bread and the women will only stick around if you go to work every day playa and bust yo butt. It works the same way in the real world too. Don’t think for one minute that all of these cosmetic 10’s are chasin’ you around because you all of a sudden got fine babyboy.

God blessed you with the talent now you’ve got to take it to the next level. Everybody in the draft tonight was the man in high school and college pimpin'. So now what? Do you continue to operate at the same level or do you step ya game up. Well…if you continue to operate at the same level you may have enough DNA to play for 10 years, make a lot of bread and hang out with a lot of chicks. If that’s what you’re in it for then cool.

However, if you step ya game up and really unleash that dragon inside of you, you can fulfill your potential, become better than you ever imagined that you could be, still make a lot of bread and hang out with some bad chicks. You make the call but it all starts tonight! You can either put in the work or get caught sleep walkin’ bruh! Stop me when I start lyin’!

Holla At Ya Boy!
