"This is what happens when you rat someone out!" |
Now convicted felon Nevin Shapiro who pleaded guilty to charges related to running a multi-state Ponzi scheme that prosecutors say left more than 60 investors in Florida, Indiana and New Jersey with nearly $100 million in losses has joined the choir singing like the Backstreet Boys in their prime.
Shapiro told the NCAA that he provided players at the University of Miami with the use of a yacht and other favors, said his attorney, Maria Elena Perez. He's been talking to the NCAA about the matter for a couple of months and provided documentation, according to his attorney. As a result, the NCAA was all over the South Florida campus on Monday shaking the joint down looking into claims that more than a dozen former or current football players received gifts and services from him.

"This is some #@*&!" |
Man… nobody wants the NCAA sniffing around campus because it never ends well. Once Pandora‘s Box is cracked open it‘s over. Like I've said in the past everybody's program is suspect because they all are cooking with the same ingredients, 18-22 year old kids, many of whom come from poverty strickened backgrounds and 40 to 50 year old rich alumni willing to do anything for the program. That always makes for a volatile situation somewhere down the line!
I’m still puzzled as to why the Feds would be concerned with what’s going on at "The U" to make them notify the NCAA or why this guy and his attorney called them in the first place. Unbelievable!
“If you can’t do the time then don’t do the crime“, isn’t that what the old school players used to say? It’s so cheap to get caught and tell on everybody else. It’s like the kid that hides in the bushes with you while playing hide and seek, get’s caught, jumps up and says, “hey man they caught us.” What?
I hope that the boys from “The U” can escape sanctions as a result of this guy singing for no apparent reason.
Holla At Ya Boy!
